Well worth the price and time

Book 2 .. Loved it. minor gripes with Sam's whining but the premise is great as well as the humor. The parrot deserves his own spinoff!

Relentless Tease

I have hard core mixed feeling about this book. Lot of it is very entertaining and lots of it is annoying. I'm very glad Aaron Oster decided to wrap it up when he did but I wish there had been one more chapter. This book could technically be rated PG-13 but I would never let my kid read it. Like I said, relentless tease.

It's not the humor or the cursing, it's just ugh

I'll start with what's okay, it's a pretty standard litrpg, the stats, level gains, special powers, and system overall work well. It has enough of its own flavor to be satisfying and somewhat original within the genre. The characters are given guide companions and I think this is a nice touch.

I was relatively intrigued by the first book, I enjoyed it and looked forward to getting the second. But shortly into the second book it lost itself. There is no character growth, the MC and supporting characters never change, the author has no desire to go into the supporting characters stories and they seem to have no purpose. It wouldn't matter if they weren't there at all. It gets less and less funny especially as you realize the MC has no goals.

I got about a quarter the way through the third book and I am considering giving up because there is nothing in the books I care about any resolution too. However I heard the author got a little meta and trashed a critic, that's a little funny to me so I might carry on.

With regard to the cursing it generally comes across as natural dialogue for a 20yo and never feels forced I wouldn't suspect it to be an issue for most people.

There are better litrpg spoofs out there that are more funny and have a better story. Just skip this one.

Edit: Okay finished the series, it's just gets worse and worse. This is not worth your credit even for all three books. The author is so upset at his critics (which some are legitimate internet trolls) that he breaks the forth wall to get upset at them in the third book. I thought it might be funny but once he does it I can't seperate the author from the MC and after that it just feels like the author hates everything. It has soured me on the author all together unfortunately.

bitter author

I was enjoying the story... sadly the author became bitter with the reviews he was receiving and ruined the series.
As C.S Lewis once wrote, “When the author walks onto the stage, the play is over”
