Publisher's Summary

Number one New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling author Charlaine Harris is at her best in this alternate history of the United States where magic is an acknowledged but despised power in this third installment of the Gunnie Rose trilogy.

Picking up right where A Longer Fall left off, this thrilling third installment follows Klementina and Eli, both wizards from the Holy Russian Empire, as they enter Ciudad Juarez. On a mission to find the descendants of Grigori Rasputin, Eli and Klemintina are in a race to discover the wizard’s magical blood - but they’re not the only ones. A group of grigoris is after the same person - Felicia, Rasputin’s granddaughter.

Wonderful

This is the best series. So drawn into the Lizbeth Rose and Eli characters. Great and imaginative plot.
The description on Amazon is not correct. This story does pick up right after book 2 but does not follow Klementina and Eli. It follows Lizbeth as Eli has been imprisoned and she travels to the Holy Russian Empire - in San Diego to save him and his family. Felix and Felicia are back to help Lizbeth as she does the impossible to save her man.

A good story

The Russian Cage does not disappoint. Story line continues to hold your attention, even as it is mostly focused on Lizbeth and Eli. Good to see the character of Felix more fleshed out. Narration continues to be very good. This series is another fantastic read by Charlaine Harris.

Another great story

Harris is such a great story teller. This series is so different and the characters are intriguing. It is always fun to get lost in her imagination.

3rd is also a charm!

The 3rd installment of the Gunnie series matched more closely to the 1st, An Easy Death. Enjoyed the action and the dialogue was truer in nature to the character.

Amazing end to an amazing series

Charlene Harris knows how to craft a story, characters and world build in a way that pulls the reader in without forcing facts and truths that don’t seem to jive. In this, book 3 of the Gunnie Rose series, she builds to a crescendo that reverberates and keeps the listener on the edge well until the end. And the end is nicely wrapped without being trite or rushed. Eve Kaminsky is, as always, pitch perfect and pace dynamic. She embodies the voices and personalities of all the characters and does not slip - no easy feat when sliding from southern to Russian to Spanish. I’m sad to see it wrap up and secretly hope Ms Harris will write another in this world but if she doesn’t, I’ll be content.

Disappointing

Up to now I have enjoyed this new series. The writing seemed hurried and the story line was boring . It was missing something that her other books usually have and I was disappointed.
