Publisher's Summary

With the Heart of Alchemy in place, the Immortality Engine is complete. Now, all Otto needs is to learn how to use it.

The secret to immortality can be found in only one place: the Sanguine Scroll.

Written by the first and greatest Arcane Lord Amet Sur, the scroll services as a manual for the engine among other things.

But Otto isn’t the only one seeking the scroll.

The race is on to see who will claim its secrets first.

so much filler

over half the book is side characters that dont add to the story. not sure I'll continue this series.

Ultimately disappointing.

The ending felt rushed even though the beginning took its sweet time to get the ball rolling. after about an hour of seeing what his enemies and random characters are doing to mess up Otto's plans does he finally come into play. At first I thought it was going to set up for a great final book sort of like how the first book ended right before the war kicked off in true form. but then it all just sorta happened in a kind of mundane way. very disappointing after some relatively good books before it. still read it of course since I'm quite sure its the final book but just know it's probably not what you wanted for the end. and if its not the final book then thats great, but still a disappointing entry.

Disappointing

Not the end I had hoped. It felt like a let done after 7 books, I don't to add any spoilers though the story feels incomplete. The current arch comes to an end, though not in the way readers believe, no romance for the MC. I had hoped for more.

The author created a interesting MC thought words the end he feels two dimensional...

Another great one

This series is coming together for a fantastic conclusion. The world building and character development has been great. If you’re looking fir an escape, then look no further.

Stop with the extras

I know the author,s intent. But 4 or 5 chapters in an no main character. Will force my way through, but over all the series is a one star.

just finished the story and it's ok

overall the story is fun, the main problem is that the writing and word choice are very simplistic. there is some good emotional growth from some of the characters but again the logic and choices are often very weakly justified.

on the whole I'd recommend it.

The MC is an Ahole

I think the writer was one of the GoT fans that wanted the "Mad Queen to win"

I didn't realize the MC was the Villain.

first half of the book is filler

main character doesn't even really show up until after 3 hours of the 6 hour book and you have to remember that this series jumps point of views. so the last 3 hours won't be all the MC. so less than half of the book really involves the MC's pov.

A huge disappointment

This book was stuffed with filler. I couldn't even finish it. it took almost half of the book for the main character to even show up. This book, and the one before it were huge letdowns.
