Publisher's Summary

He knows how to score, on and off the ice.

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn't have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she's nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won't include the king of one-night stands.

It'll take more than flashy moves to win her over.

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls; he's a ladies man, all right, and he's yet to meet a woman who's immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world - and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It's not over until he says it's over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it's time to stop focusing on scoring, and shoot for love.

Really liked it

I loved it! Much more mature characters then Grace and Logan in the previous tome.
Dean is surprisingly lovable. Don’t hesitate, it’s a good book!

Not the best of the series

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed this one and am a fan of this whole series; however, I found this one to be my least favorite.

The first two books I physically read, and this was my first audiobook version for this series. I really struggled with the recording quality of this audiobook - it sounds like they recorded these with bluetooth headset microphones. I went back to sample the other books, and they're the same, its very distracting.

Elle Kennedy did a great job of introducing plot twists to what could've been a very predictable read, which is really awesome. That said, I didn't swoon over Dean the same way I did for Garrett and Logan.

Swooning over Dean

This book kept all my attention I put it down to sleep and as soon as I woke up I was back to it.
I love Dean since the beginning and I was very excited to read his book and oh man didn't disappoint, I LOL'ed the entire book.

I enjoyed how their story developed, and I really liked to be inside his mind, I mean I know the dude is an asshat and a man whore but in his defense he doesn't make anoyone do anything that they don't want, and he is freaking funny!
I just love these guys friendship so much and I don't want it to end

Allie oh Allie she is my spiritual animal I loved her on the deal but here she's so much more love her
She is a very intelligent woman going through a rough time in her life decisions decisions, just left a long-term relationship ( on and off kinda relationship)
And she gets into Dean's radar she needs a rebound and he offers as a tribute his words not mine, but she is more clever than to get involved with a man whore or isn't she?

Even though it’s been months? Since I read any of these, you feel like you just put down the last book. I think I love that about this series. They stick with you even so long after.

I feel like I should say this book was about growing pains. And sometimes I thought god they are so immature, but then I think about how old they are and it makes sense.

Allie I really thought was immature through a good part of the book but like I said I have to think about how old she is and everything she has been through.
Who cares if she whines a little bit here and there? I think the girl deserves it, her life hasn't been overly hard but it hasn't been easy either.

So I had to say Pam think about it from her point of view. This is her last year in College she is just enjoying the experience.

We also have Dean.. I tell you I wanted to smack the boy, haha but he grew up as did Allie. I loved the connection and the heat between these two. You can’t deny how good they are for each other.
I think this might be a re reader for me because it just left me feeling good at the end.

Also LOVED, the heck out of the narration, Savannah and Andrew do a wonderful job bringing this audio to life in my ears. They portray the characters so well.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

What a Difference a Narrator Makes (or Narrators)!

I am a huge Elle Kennedy fan. I am an especially big fan of her Off Campus series. I have to say that I was hugely disappointed for the audio of the 1st 2 books of the series. Truthfully, had there been no change in narrator, I would not have purchased this, the 3rd book in the series. BUT, with the dual POV of the book, she also now has dual narrators. Bravo!! I was not very familiar with either one of these narrators, but they both did a great job.

As for the story, by now we are very familiar with Dean and Allie based on the first 2 books. However, this story really does a great job of delving into each character and building all the layers. The author develops the characters so well that there I times that I don't like them and there are times when I love them. They both go through a lot of self realization and self questioning, but not to the point that I am thinking, "Please get over yourself", which happens more often than I would like with other authors.

In the end you get the HEA, but its not the HEA you expect... which I think makes it better.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters had layers and I always like when getting to know a character seems real and that's how I felt with this book. It was hot, sweet, sad and funny all in one story. I'm not one to laugh out loud at books but I found myself laughing a few different times while listening to this one. I have no idea why it took me so long to listen to this book but I will be listening to the next one right away.

The narration was perfect!! Savannah and Andrew are both great narrators and they brought these characters to life.

Not My Favorite Off Campus Hero

Overall 4 stars
Performance 4 stars
Story 3.5 stars

I'm so glad that I finally took the time to officially meet Dean. After being introduced to him in The Deal, I was hoping there was more to him than just a manwhore hockey player. Well, he was those things (insert eye roll), but I'm happy to say that he was also more than that too. He's definitely not my favorite Off Campus hero, but I did enjoy his story and his banter with Allie.

I both loved and hated Dean. He was crass and boorish at times, but he also knew what he wanted and was unapologetic about it. He did have his sweet moments, but most of the time, he was either having sex, trying to have sex, thinking about sex, playing hockey, or partying. Honestly, it got a little old after a while. He did have fantastic chemistry with Allie though and I enjoyed their playful back and forth. Speaking of Allie, I wasn't sure how to feel about her in the beginning, but I was happy with her progression through the book. Both her and Dean matured through the story, but I admired Allie for stepping back and really finding herself and standing on her own. One of my favorite things about this series is that the characters from the previous books appear since the timeline of the books are all within the same time frame/overlap. I will never tire of more swoony Garrett or hilarious Logan. That scene when Logan "meets" Winston and the ensuing teasing had me laughing out loud!

This friends with benefits/secret relationship romance was an entertaining read/listen, but the overall pacing felt a bit slow and I didn't devour it the same way I did The Deal. I was glad though that the push and pull at the end wasn't drawn out, but was surprised and heartbroken at the cause of this downward spiral. The book ends a little abruptly with a bombshell from Tucker and I'm excited to see how that plays out in The Goal.

I both read and listened to this one and though both narrators did a great job, I can't say that I loved them. I enjoyed Andrew Eiden's performance more than Savannah Peachwood's, but as wonderful as it was, I almost felt like he was too sweet for cocky and arrogant Dean. Overall, still a great listen and I can't wait to meet Tucker!

Fun story.Didn't love the female narrator.

Would you listen to The Score again? Why?

I read the book and loved it, but didn't enjoy the audiobook as much. Andrew Eiden was fantastic, but I didn't love the way Savannah Peachwood portrayed Ally. She spoke too slowly and I felt like she was reading the story rather than acting the character.

What did you like best about this story?

Definitely Dean's POV and some of the laugh out loud quotes from him.

What about Savannah Peachwood and Andrew Eiden ’s performance did you like?

I thought Andrew was fantastic (Is it just me or does he sound an awful lot like Teddy Hamilton from Him, Us and Keepsake?) He was terrific in this, as always. He brought so much humor and personality to the character of Dean. Savannah Peachwood just didn't do it for me as Ally. I almost stopped listening because of her a few times, but Dean's POV (and Andrew Eiden's voice) kept me going.

VERY VERY ENJOYABLE

My one complaint about this book is the female narrators male voice sounds like the ugly pretty woman on in living color. It was horrible with that said everything else was very entertaining and hot. I did shed a few tears and had a bunch of LOL . Worth a credit

Loved this.

This story was fantastic. There is nothing better than watching a guy with an ego get knocked down a couple pegs and this is exactly what Allie does to Dean. He is such a wild, free spirit and I loved watching him flounder to get her attention. This series is just so good. The narration was fantastic. Wish I could experience it again for the first time.

Not good

There was just no depth of character or any real development. The maturity levels of the main characters was so low..
Male Narrator was very good, not so much the female narrator.

Kennedy delivers again! Great collegiate romance!

Kennedy has a knack for writing young adult novels, but making keeping them relevant and entertaining for this 50ish person. I enjoy this series very much and based on some of the secondary characters in this book, I can look forward to other books in this series.

Allie and Dean's story (centered at Briar) starts with him respecting her as his roommates girlfriends best friend; Allie thinks of him as a man whore just out to have sex with anything that moves. Their relationship evolves from rebound sex for her and good sex for him to the realization that they have a lustful need for each her that further develops as they both battle to determine what happens after graduation.

I recommend reading this book for purchase, coveted credit or sale!!

Dean & Allie

This book was good. It makes you laugh and cry. The sadness is near the end with Dean not knowing how to deal with what had happened There are three parts in the book that made me laugh so hard. There was one that takes place in a bar and it involved a song sung by Pink. I encourage anyone that's not familiar with the song to look it up in YouTube once you get to that part in the book. It's hilarious!! The second one involved Dean and Winston in the bath tub with bubbles. Oh gosh, that was so funny. The third is what happens to Dean when he comes home late one night after a game when Allie and Summer are watching scary movies. It's just a very enjoyable book that I'm glad I listen to and will again
