Highly recommend

Chef AJ does a wonderful job narrating her book. She shares her incredible journey and what she has overcome. She explains a whole food plant based diet and why it shouldn’t include sugar salt and oil in a way that makes sense and is doable. Chef AJ gives tips and strategies for eating out and at friends and helps set you up for success. The book also includes lots of yummy recipes.

Must buy! Wonderful book!

Chef AJ’s new book is a great read, filled with wonderful advice about healthy whole food plant based lifestyle eating. She shows you the secrets of ultimate weight loss in a passionate, simple, down to earth no nonsense, thorough way. Follow her advice and you will loose weight and be healthy.

Not sustainable

If you can successfully cut out flour, sugar, fat, alcohol, dairy and animal products you will lose weight. Yes of course, but this not real life or any sustainable lifestyle for many.

Principles are excellent

I enjoyed the audio version of this book. I must admit like others, that its quite odd that the template for this way of eating is not included in the kindle version, considering it is the basis of the entire book lol. However, regarding the book, excellent information, same as others as far as calorie density goes, with more of a focus on the food addict. While I am definitely a sugar addict myself, I didn't resonate with the level of addiction she spoke about in this book. I feel like her target audience is for those with extreme complex issues revolving around food - with some of her suggestions being to lie about already eating, find new friends if you have to to avoid temptation or because of lack of support from them and basically to NEVER have a treat in fear that you will slip back uncontrollably in to the addiction. I am able to follow her core principles, while having the odd treat here and there and have no problem continuing my day enjoying eating the rest of my day, the way she describes in this book. So I am inlove with the concept of calorie density and she does an excellent of explaining it, but the other part of her training just doesn't feel like its for me, however it could be perfect for someone else. I would recommend reading this book either way, alot of helpful information for both health and weightloss.

With over 100 recipes, where is the PDF?

I really like the book, and Chef AJ's reading is enthusiastic and motivating. My only complaint is that there are over 100 recipes in the book according to the cover, and I would expect a PDF with those recipes.

Extreme and Overly Repetitive

This book is very extreme in approach and very, very, very repetitive. Two-thirds of the book repeats one-third of it. To sum up, the plan of this book is to eat ONLY fresh fruits and vegetables and legumes and nothing else. No processed food of any kind, no meat, no milk or dairy products, no sugar, no oatmeal, no oil (including olive, coconut - none), no flour products, no nuts or any product made from nuts (like almond milk or butter), no butters, no salt, no fats (no avocado), no juicing, and no blending. She wants you eating at least 2 pounds of vegetables a day (she eats 4 lbs a day) and 1 of those pounds for breakfast. She claims she doesn't count calories, yet she talks about percentages of calories. How can you know a percentage of something that you claim not to count? She wants you writing down all the food you eat. Before you eat any starchy vegetable, like potatoes, you eat the vegetables first. No fruit for breakfast until you eat your vegetables and limit all fruits and vegetables that you can't eat with the peel on. I agree that eating more vegetable is a good thing, but for me, she is just too extreme. I'm not surprised people lose weight on this program since eating this is very low calorie. If you're into or think you're into, extreme veganism then this book is for you. If you feel that life should be more moderate then you'll want to pass on this one.

Where's the pdf with all the recipies???😲

Learned alot. Lots of things repeated alot through. I bought the book partially for the recipies. No pdf with the recipies!!!??

Found pdf with the recipes in Library

This is a good listen for what it is, and I had struggled to find the recipes. They are in the library section. I hadn't read the publisher's note all the way to the bottom. Now I can move forward on her plan. I think she has a lot of great suggestions. But, honestly, I don't need a food safe for my husband's food. I have lost 60 lbs on my own diet for more than a year and have not cheated once. Trust me, I am just as much of a food addict as she is. I can understand how this might be useful, but I don't need it. I am super strict and know I will never be able to eat baked goods again, for example. I am vegetarian, but I am looking now to transition to maintenance on my diet and plant based whole foods. I will see what I can use from her system.

refreshing

this is a hardcore weight loss program for the very serious who have stumbled and been unsuccessful with other methods. for older or middle-aged women who find it very difficult to lose weight this is an excellent program

What’s the worth of audio version if recipes not included in pdf form ? I was hoping she at least would read the recipes but no “ the end” ...

A Solution that WORKS!

I don't have much to loose but I'm 53 now and it's become a bit more difficult. My current relationship places me in an environment with a family who love to eat popcorn, pizza, chips, ice cream and chocolate. Gah a complete willpower challenge :( Luckily I'm already vegan so I've got a lot of good habits but I'm struggling and gaining weight. This book has provided me with tools and mindset to get back on track, admittedly I had to step away from that house a few days to gain momentum but I feel confident that I can flow with the 21 day Kickstart program.

A bit too preachy for my taste

I just finished Chef AJ’s book the Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss. I have mixed feelings about it. While I can commiserate with Chef AJ’s story and believe that she is genuine in her endeavor to help people; and while I picked some great gems out of the book (for example, I ate vegetables for breakfast today and liked them), I found most of it to be very preachy and unyielding to any other way of thinking, or, more appropriately, eating. I’m OK with whole food, plant-based with no oil or sugar. I still use a bit of salt (but so reduced and mostly from miso). But my diet still contains some of her “non-compliant” foods like raw nuts and avocados and whole grain bread and peanut butter that I make myself from peanuts roasted in the air fryer with no added oil or salt. And yet, when I completely eliminated processed sugars and oil, since Christmas I have lost 16 pounds and am still losing about 1.5 to 2 pounds per week. I’m not a good devotee. I don’t have the gene for allowing someone to be my guru for any aspect of life. And so I will take and cherish the gems that I found in Chef AJ’s book and pass on the hardcore born-again WFPB stuff. In this journey, the person I follow closest (and admire, but still am not a devotee) is Dr. Gregor. His two books: How Not to Die and How Not to Diet are my go-to for sound scientific advice. What I like about his work is that while he is passionate about his subject, he is not pushy about it. He shows the science and says, “make up your own mind.” Whereas the feeling I get from Chef AJ’s work is, “Here’s the irrefutable evidence and now if you don’t follow it, accept that you don’t WANT to be healthy and thin.” The my way or the highway, tough love method of convincing folks.

Do what works for you

I enjoyed listening to the book I got the pdf and I give it a try... about the fats side it's not a trigger for me... I can have 1/8 of a small avocado and stop there.... it's not the same with nuts... at restaurant I'll ask with no sauce but if they cooked the onions with oil I'll eat it. all the informations makes sense.... I have one question about the second breakfast... I don't have time for more than 3 meals per day... so after eating my 500g of vegetables I have not room for starch nor fruits... I don't want to force myself if I not hungry... what can I do?
