Publisher's Summary

"A gorgeous love story from one of the finest romance writers out there." —Carley Fortune, New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After

A New York Public Library Best Book of 2023

A Most Anticipated Book by Entertainment Weekly ∙ Harper's Bazaar ∙ PopSugar ∙ Real Simple ∙ BookRiot ∙ and more!

An overworked book publicist with a perfectly planned future hits a snag when she falls in love with her temporary roommate…only to discover he lives seven years in the past, in this witty and wise new novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Dead Romantics.

Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it.

So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: work hard, find someone decent to love, and try to remember to chase the moon. The last one is silly and obviously metaphorical, but her aunt always told her that you needed at least one big dream to keep going. And for the last year, that plan has gone off without a hitch. Mostly. The love part is hard because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone—she isn’t sure her heart can take it.

And then she finds a strange man standing in the kitchen of her late aunt’s apartment. A man with kind eyes and a Southern drawl and a taste for lemon pies. The kind of man that, before it all, she would’ve fallen head-over-heels for. And she might again.

Except, he exists in the past. Seven years ago, to be exact. And she, quite literally, lives seven years in his future.

Her aunt always said the apartment was a pinch in time, a place where moments blended together like watercolors. And Clementine knows that if she lets her heart fall, she’ll be doomed.

After all, love is never a matter of time—but a matter of timing.

had to DNF because of "E-Won"

why did the narrator not look up how to pronounce Ewan? that's just lazy work and immediately ruined the audiobook. rating the story mid, since I'm not finishing it and don't know how it turns out.

Ashely Poston - you are amazing. I loved this book from start to finish. The story is just so magical with hints of realistic life challenges and heartache. And the performance was amazing! it was spot on and fit the character perfectly. My only issue was.. it ended! I never wanted it to end!

A Cute Rom-Com

Story was sweet and reminiscent of a classic 2000s rom-com, which I liked. However, it took me awhile to get past the pronunciation of “Ewan” and performance for his dialogue. I was tempted to give up on the audio book because I cringed every time.

“Ee-won”

I’m only a few hours in. I’m sure the story will be fine but I’m struggling with the MMC’s name. I assumed it was “Ewan” being mispronounced and was grating on me so badly until I googled it. I’m not sure I can cope.

Good Read

This is a fun, entertaining, good story. Ewan and Clementine are interesting, relatable, captivating, intriguing characters. I enjoyed both the romance and the overall story. Once again grief and the death of a love one was a major factor in this story and it’s effects on the characters. Poston once again handles these with a depth hand. I wish that we had more information as to why Ewan is different in the timelines and what their future holds. This is another impactful book, with dynamic characters and subplots.

I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrator.

Mispronounciation Mishap

I can’t stand that the narrator mispronounced a main character’s name the entire book. I almost stopped listening, but I was driving, so I kept going. I understand that Ewan isn’t pronounced how it looks, but this was a HUGE oversight. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book :)
