À propos de cet audio
The epic finale to the Bone Witch series! As Tea's dark magic eats away at her, she must save the one she loves most, even while her life - and the kingdoms - are on the brink of destruction.
In the eight kingdoms, none have greater strength or influence than the asha, who hold elemental magic. But only a bone witch has the power to raise the dead. Tea has used this dark magic to breathe life into those she has loved and lost...and those who would join her army against the deceitful royals. But Tea's quest to conjure a shadowglass, to achieve immortality for the one person she loves most in the world, threatens to consume her.
Tea's heartsglass only grows darker with each new betrayal. Her work with the monstrous azi, her thirst for retribution, her desire to unmask the Faceless-they all feed the darkrot that is gradually consuming her heartsglass. She is haunted by blackouts and strange visions, and when she wakes with blood on her hands, Tea must answer to a power greater than the elder asha or even her conscience. Tea's life-and the fate of the kingdoms-hangs in the balance.

Beautiful ending
Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.
To be honest, this book makes very little sense if you haven't read Books One & Two of the 'Bone Witch' series - I maintain that all three should be looked at as entries in a single work rather than individual episodes in a story arc. If you invest yourself, however, Chupeco's imaginative world will remind you of N.K. Jemisin's 'Broken Earth' trilogy (.. but with it's romantic elements compares most closely with Leigh Bardugo's 'Grisha' series).
In it's favor, the book finally delivers on the promise of "Dark" Fantasy suggested by the use of a protagonist that practices Death Magic: Tea threatens to succumb to the temptation of embracing "Black Heartsglass" (the evil elements within herself) as she seeks the ambiguously good/evil "Shadowglass" teased in Ancient texts and threatens to devastate society (to reform it as she thinks it should be). The portrayal in the first two books of Tea as developing into a conflicted, vengeance-focussed antihero is nicely explained and culminates in a heart-pounding confrontation with tyrannical elites and the secretive "Faceless".
Unfortunately, the author also incorporates themes of betrayal and loss that are a little too nebulous, the "heartsglass" imagery is overly complicated, and the introduction of themes of sexuality (hetero-/homo-/bi-) and gender identity into the story is a bit of a headscratcher (they're fine.. but glaringly irrelevant and actually interfere with the illusion of realism. Chupeco takes readers out of the story for a cultural agenda😞).
Regardless, they write a satisfying conclusion to an immersive Fantasy tale.
This book isn't as meaningful and well-organized as Book Two, but 'The Shadow Glass' ties up all of the loose ends. It's well-written, well-executed, and worthwhile.
No doubt my favorable impression of the book is bolstered by much better volume leveling in comparison to earlier novels (Emily Woo Zeller's brutal issues with whisper-quiet text alternating with eardrum-bursting dialogue are much improved in this recording).
Well done, Blackstone Audio Inc. engineers.
[Will Damron's performance remains exemplary, BTW.]
Altogether, this 7/10 star conclusion is worth a listen.. IF you can get it as a 'Plus' offering. Despite a pleasing closure to a fascinating imaginary scenario, you should consider other Fantasy options for your money if it's demanded. Be aware that you will need to invest in Books One & Two as well..
