Story
The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

She bursts into my life like a storm, and nothing is the same again. One by one, I watch as my friends fall under her spell. Only I see that her smiles don’t reach her cold, furious eyes. And when I’m accused of things I didn’t do, when my home is vandalized, I know she’s behind it. But she only lets her mask slip when no one is looking, so if I say anything, I’ll look crazy. So when the baby shower comes around, I’m sitting on a velvet sofa in a posh hotel room, surrounded by balloons. But that afternoon, I finally learn the unbelievable truth. There is no baby....

Publisher's Summary
"You don't deserve a sister...."
Lizzy Beresford is at home alone when she finds a chilling letter in her kitchen. Someone has been into her home - someone who wishes Lizzy harm.
In her little country cottage, with her doting boyfriend, not far from the close-knit village, Lizzy can’t imagine who might want to hurt her. But when the threatening letters keep coming, she starts to suspect everyone around her.
Desperate, Lizzy reaches out to her sister, Emma. They haven’t spoken in years, not since the argument that tore them apart.
But what Emma says shocks her to the core:
"I’ve been receiving letters too...."
From the best-selling author of The Secret Mother and The Child Next Door, this absolutely enthralling psychological thriller will keep you guessing with every heart-stopping twist. If you loved Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train, and The Sister, this book is for you.
What the critics say
"Wow and wow again...a nail biting, fast-paced roller coaster ride that is packed full of so many twists and turns...jaw dropping...it's worth far more than five stars." (Nicki’s Life of Crime, 5 stars)

I hated this so much
some books in this genre drag on but right at the end everything comes together and makes sense and its shocking and amazing. this book was NOT like that, I couldnt wait for it to be over and even considered giving up many times but just pushed on for hopefully a good twist ending. even the ending was lame and not worth hauling through this book

Had no idea at all!
I really love this author. Every book of hers has been awesome. This one really threw me. No idea until the last chapter what was going on. Looking for an exciting thriller, then look no further. Definitely a great story that is worth the money or credit. Loved it!! 😀😀😀

Decent, but not life-changing
The Silent Sister is a good story to read after you've finished a really intense book. It passes the time - is enjoyable - but you won't really remember the details in a month or so. The narrator is very good, and there are enough twists to keep it interesting.

Gripping
This is a a great story. Kept me interested all the way through. Just when you think you know “who done it” there’s another twist to throw you off again. The narrator was fantastic. Looking forward to hearing her again. It’s a must read/hear.

Maybe it's just me
But I found this to be quite predictable. Going into it I thought I could probably guess the ending but was hoping I couldn't - but to my dismay it turned out exactly as I thought it would. Not really many twists - just quite predictable.

Absurdly Predictable
So blatantly predictable, I kept listening thinking I must be wrong, it wouldn't be so obvious. The little twist in the epilogue would have been better if it tied into the core plot more.

Disappointed
I read a few of her books and really enjoyed it. This one is really really bad. I wasn’t thrilled at all but I was annoyed and just wanted it to be over. I didn’t care about the characters at all. So so bad. I returned it
