This makes it possible to create what Kenneth Haslam, founder of the Kinsey Institute's Polyamory Archive, has called designer relationships. The possibilities are limitless, and thinking about a partnership as something people can craft allows for flexibility and change.

Jenny Block is your average girl next door, a suburban wife and mother for whom married life never felt quite right. While many books on this topic presuppose that the listener is ready to embrace an "alternative lifestyle", Block operates from the assumption that most couples who are curious about or engaged in open marriages are in fact more like her - normal people who question whether monogamy is right for them.

Story
To make an open marriage work, Franklin and Celeste knew they needed to make sure no one else ever came between them. That meant there had to be rules. No overnights, no falling in love, and either one of them could ask the other to end an outside relationship if it became too much to deal with. It worked for nearly two decades, and their relentless focus on their own relationship let them turn a blind eye to the emotional wreckage they were leaving behind them.

Accessible!
Dedeker Winston is incredibly knowledgeable of non monogamy and healthily relationships; she has also clearly refined her book to a very high level of concision in the editing process. Of all of the books that I have read on polyamory, this one sticks out for having a perfect balance of technically knowledge and practical application. It does not feel like a textbook, however it is filled with information. I believe anyone could pick up this book and easily comprehend what she is talking about. it is clear in her writing that she is cognizant of the variety of people that would find value on her book and she writes as inclusively as possible. I feel that this is one of the best books to give to someone that does not yet understand polyamory or wants to improve their relationships. I have already given this book to three people and I am sure that I will gift it to more in the future.

This book is a collection of advice you hear in the polyam community wrapped in a personal perspective. Several times I found myself having to skip back because something thought provoking would send my mind on a tangent. It may be my new go to recommendation for people asking where to start.

Amazing, Motivational and Informative!
I am so excited to listen to Dedeker Winston's book! I have been wanting to read it for the last year and just haven't done so. I love all the history and information. The non-biased explanations and points of view. To me this is truly a book on Love and its endless potential of personal meanings. I enjoy the reader, Stephanie Rose, and how she adjusts her voice to fit the individual statements. Totally a book worth listening to more than once.

Educational for Beginners
This is by far the best book that I have read recently about ethical non-monogamy and polyamory that I would suggest anybody starting off. Dedeker really get into each different component of polyamory an open relationship or ethical non-monogamy and makes it easy to understand. Thank you so much for doing this Brooke I think it was very well written and you did an excellent job of explaining everything.
