The agreement doesn't work.

Canada's outdated constitution was designed to serve central Canada at the expense of the West.

Efforts to reform the constitution have failed.

Independence parties and movements have come and gone without success.

The West needs to pursue independence, and independence advocates need to change their approach.

In December of 1980, The Globe and Mail described western separatism as “primitive and confused, groping for a platform and searching for a leader.” Here we are over 40 years later, and the statement is as true as ever.

The Sovereigntist's Handbook is a training manual for independence supporters. Creating a solid base of support for independence needs to be done one supporter at a time.

Advocates for independence need a guide, and this is it.

Great advice from a person who's been there and done that. This should be required reading for every Albertan.

Great educational book that every Albertian should read. Should be used as a guide to educate others on a grassroots, individual bases as the author suggests. A combination of personal experience, history and essential information make this book a excellent guide to navigate the times ahead without repeating the cycle of repetition/mistakes of the past.

Excellent book puts the state of affairs of Alberta and Canada into perspective that the news people on TV wont tell you.

Cory writes from the perspective of over 20 years' involvement in Alberta politics, both as a candidate and a correspondent. Wherever you are on the spectrum of support for independence of the western Provinces (and Territories) - from absolutely not, to referendum today, please - there's something here for you. Straightforward, sensible, and compiling.

Must Read for Canadians

overall I liked the book, informative and honest. the narration is not good, but not a deal breaker.

Good Information!

I learned so much from this book. If you are unsure about Alberta independence or you want to learn more about the topic, this is the go to book!

No, I thought the movement is decades old. The author was there to see it all!

The first six chapters are dense with information so I was stopping to look things up. It would be great to have an updated version as some of the numbers for Senate seats have changed, although it doesn’t change the results or message of the book.

Anyway, I highly recommend taking the time to listen to this book, especially if you live in Alberta. I’ll be able to make an informed decision when it comes time to vote.
