Publisher's Summary

Belly has an unforgettable summer in this stunning start to the Summer I Turned Pretty series from the New York Times bestselling author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (now a major motion picture!), Jenny Han.

Some summers are just destined to be pretty.

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Loved it.

I love these kind of stories, even though I'm 77. I'm. still young at heart. I am On book three now only just starting. and I'm afraid to read to the end because I have no idea what's gonna happen. as soon as I finish the books, I'm gonna watch the series on TV.

Juvenile

The Summer I turned Pretty was more juvenile than I expected. Very American white privileged story of a summer home and a girl who is crazed over a longtime childhood friend who she spends summers with there. The main character has some appeal, but the male characters have none, and the story is written from the stereotypical perspective that the teenage girl is always inferior to her male counterparts.

Loved it!!

This was my first time listening to an audio book and what made me want to was the fact that they had Lola Tung narrate it and because she already narrated parts in the show I knew I would probably enjoy it. I was right, it was great. I had all the feels and couldn’t stop smiling at points. Highly suggest listening to this

Easy read

I surprisingly loved this book. It always depends what you are looking for, but for me it was perfect; really light and easy to read, I could easily do something else at the same time. I loved that the actor playing the main character in the serie (which I haven't seen yet) is also narrating the book. Wasn't sure (of the narrator) at first but it fits with the theme, i.e young, cute, first love story. Read this book in a matters of days.

Couldn’t finish it.

I couldn’t finish listening to it.. the narrator sounded like she was trying not to laugh/ giggle the entire time. It was hard to listen too. I was trying so hard, I got to chapter 8 and that was hard. I had to stop. I can’t stand the half giggling through the entire thing.. even the parts it makes no sense.

absolutely lovely!

A bright and shiny story I will never forget. As Belly discovers herself her discovery brought back so many memories of myself at the ages she relates. I felt again that first love, the kind of love that never ever dies.

Childish story and narrating.

Genre is pre-teens or young teens. I am very surprised that adults like this book as it lacks depth.

Easy to follow along

I loved the story line and the voice of the narrator. I think the crowd of 11 - 50 would enjoy this story as well as the series
