A nice easy listen. I would listen to next book in the series when it comes out. Surprised this book kept my interest without constant action. Characters were very likable and the narration was excellent.

I saw no indication that this was part of a series when I bought this book and yet it ends suddenly with a cliffhanger of foreshadowing and a to be continued. I enjoyed the story and the narration right into the point where it left me hanging. I feel like I ordered a three course meal and only two courses were served.

nice listen, good character development, easy to follow. disappointed there is no book 2, from what I can tell there is a book 2, but was never finished or never published. I would listen to book to if it were release.

well I love this audiobook, you close your eyes a visual the scene. Just like your watching a movie. I wish there were more like this like the BBC show from 70s

This talking book is well very written, and the Narrator is good, definitely gets the Australian accent right! Maybe she’s Australian. As the other reviewers mentioned you definitely emphasize with the characters.
One thing to note…if you’re looking for gore and violence look elsewhere. If you’re looking at a well written book which is very realistic, so realistic I’d sure like to be in Australia if a pandemic happens!

I have been duped. Upon reading the publisher's description and trusting Audible that I was buying a complete novel, I am angry that it ends in a cliffhanger... to be continued.. So, before you spend your hard-earned money or credit on The Survivors, be warned that even though this is an interesting story with good characterization and narration, it ends abruptly and you will have to spend more to hear more.. Shame on the publisher and Audible for their duplicity.

Why not tell us this is Book 1?

Great listen. The narration took a bit to get used to but I eventually got on with it. My only complaint is that I didn’t realize it was ‘part 1’ and it ended on a cliff hanger. If there is a book 2, I don’t see it.

I almost DNF. I continued to wait for this to get good, and it never did. Too much didn’t make sense. In one scene, it was explained that there was just one swing and a sea saw in this little playground area; then all of a sudden there are two swings lol. Another example: there is a break-in in one of the houses— a kitchen window got smashed in. Tom then says something about “do you think we should start locking the door?” How would that have mattered, since they had broken a window to get in regardless? lol. Honestly hated this listen. I didn’t enjoy the narration either.
