Story
FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid is dead-set on solving a cold case - even if the original investigators stonewall her every step of the way. A violent storm has uncovered the remains of a family that authorities assumed fled the country years ago to avoid prosecution. But the body of the youngest Albright son never turned up. If the child is dead, why wasn’t his body found with his parents? If he’s alive, where has he been...and what does he know? Now, Lucy and her partner, Nate, must reconstruct an old crime to find a missing child in the present day.

Great start to a new series
I'm a big fan of Allison Brennan's and if you like her previous books, you should enjoy this one, too.
The narrator is new to me and, while overall I think she did a fine job, I found her reading to be a bit flat at times.

Frustrating Read
The biggest problem with this book was the performance. The narrator was very poor. She spoke so fast I actually thought the narration speed was off. Each sentence rushed into the next with barely a breath between. The story was Ok but there was no warning (that I saw) that it was the first in a series. I HATE that device. And the narrator’s style made it even worse. It just stopped dead.

Horrendous narration!
I am only 4 hours into the story and if the plot were not so good I would have stopped listening after 5 minutes. I had to give narration 1 star to submit review but I feel it is not worthy of rating. The narration is horrible. Her voice is flat, there is little differentiation between characters and she can’t speak Spanish (one of the characters is bilingual). Not only that but she speaks so fast that I am listening to the story at .75 of normal speed. It is a shame because Allison Brennan’s stories are so good! PLEASE get a new narrator for the next book in the series.

The story is really well thought out, however I found it irritating when the main character kept breaking out in Spanish when irritated.

Great story performed by not so great narrator
I agree with so many of the others who have posted reviews - great story, but they need a different performer reading. I struggle many times keeping up with the story because I wasn't sure who was say what because there was NO difference between the characters voices. Would love to see another in this series, but if it's the same performer I'll probably reach for a hard copy to read.

Get to the point?
The author seemed to add too many characters and extra side conversations that you don't really need to complete the story. You might as well get the abridged copy.

Good story - Good action - terrible narration
If this story had a talented narrator it would have been a great experience - as it was I had to stop and re listen to numerous sections to grasp what had been said
The narrator seemed to want to get through the written words without much in the way of emotion
All in all it was an intriguing book
