Great world building

Great world building and magic system. The story construction and payoffs didn't work for me though. Book 2 I liked the most out of the 3. The narration is overall good, but the female characters often sound very whiny, and I didn't like that choice for the performance. There are also random points in the series where one off crowd characters say things and the narrator chose to give them American southern accents the two or three times that happened. But nothing else sounded distinctly American, so that was pretty strange haha.
