The story that they took us through was one that was so beautifully enveloped the dehabiliting effects of trauma. Pain is expressed so differently from person to person and Amber had characters displaying it in multiple forms. the Story was engaging, frustrating, and swoon-worthy. While some may think it was repetitive in some aspects, I felt it truly showed how hard it is to change, to move onto a different path, to accept, to overcome depression, to feel.

This was the perfect sequel to BOA. The 🌶️ tension was tensioning and when it came down to it… OOOOF. Fire! I love Samkiel & Dianna’s banter. I love the friendships. And my heart BROKE at the end, but the twists were phenomenal. I can’t wait for book 3!!

had to skip through almost half the book because it was just so repetitive. only thing worse than the book was the performance. it made the dialogue seem SO much worse. i was physically cringing and just grossed out. skipped through every single “spicy scene” because of it.

I keep trying to ignore it.. the narrator can't pronounce S T as in strong not shtrong. Drives me nuts.

Way too much repetition, way too much melodrama. FMC is insufferable in this book. No thoughts, just rage and angst. Equally nasty to people who deserve it and people who dont. Understandable up to a point because of the trauma but it goes on and on and on and on and on and some of it is just pure stupidity. Exhausting to listen to. Everyone can psychoanalysis everyone else but nobody has any introspection whatsoever. Would be believable if this was a superpower highschool drama but hot damn these characters are over 1000 years old and haven't learned rhe most basic things about having feelings. Only reason I didnt DNF is because I put it on in the background and just started half tuning out.
