Publisher's Summary

The Time of Contempt: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

Soon to be a major Netflix original series!

To protect his ward, Ciri, Geralt of Rivia, sends her away from the home of the Witchers to train with the sorceress Yennefer. But all is not well within the Wizard's Guild in the second book of the NYT best-selling series that inspired the blockbuster video games.

Geralt is a witcher: guardian of the innocent; protector of those in need; a defender, in dark times, against some of the most frightening creatures of myth and legend. His task, now, is to protect Ciri. A child of prophecy, she will have the power to change the world for good or for ill - but only if she lives to use it.

Andrzej Sapkowski, winner of the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award, started an international phenomenon with his Witcher series.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Great narrator, good story

I enjoyed the narration very much. However there is an error in the edition, regarding Ciri's age. One of the chapters she spent time in Skellige with Crach at age 14, but Cintra had already been invaded at that time. I consulted someone who read the Polish version and they confirmed this was not right in the English version.

A Masterful vision of another world!

Like the wild hunt this story seems to be from another realm. Master full in story. The narrator is also amazing. The Witcher series was translated from another language. The original language was Polish I believe. And sometimes stories are not as well put forth due to that fact. Danusia Stok and David French translated the books into English for us. I mention them because like I said above translations are not always the best. But this is not the fact here. The essence the magic the f eel we are peering into another world feels genuine if such a ability could exist!

Story is great. needs less distracting noise

I'd love to hear the story without having to go back and listen frequently because some shortsighted person can employ a musician along with cheesy sound effects to prevent a quality story be heard.

Looking forward to the next book

As with all books there were some story lines that I liked better than others. Wasn’t too much of a fan of the ending but loved the book enough to continue reading the series.

Highly recommend

Excellent so far

I’ve really enjoyed the story so far, but what I’ve enjoyed even more is the author’s writing style of flashback. It really moves the story along, while providing key details and story points.
