Publisher's Summary

Adventuring doesn't ever really end, does it?

Classes evolve, roles shift, and in the city of Liscor, change is happening. The Horns of Hammerad are growing as adventurers, rising in the eyes of the city and the surrounding lands. They've survived, and they've leveled, but new levels also bring new problems. Izril is still facing turmoil as nobles fight and squabble while Liscor breathes again and heals, trying to find a new way forward.

The best cure for dark days? Games! And none know it better than the oldest adventurers, who've lived through countless struggles. Niers Astoragon is the greatest [Strategist] of Baleros, a leader in one of the Four Great Companies, and his students vie for his approval. They'll compete to become the best new generation of talented leaders and commanders. Glory, mischief, and competition await!

What they've forgotten is that there are never low stakes with Niers. Compete for fame, compete for fun, but remember, there's no such thing as a bloodless game when you play against the Titan of Baleros.

I am always excited for the next book!

These books are everything I want in an audiobook. They have adventure, personal stories, warmth, and characters of variety. Every book is a Gem.
I only ask that the stories do not get graphically and sexually dirty. I enjoy great stories that show the talent of the writer that are about the characters working through difficult situations. And want it to stay as positive as it does.
I hope that Reoka does over come her vulgar language. I skip past most of her stuff for that reason.
Anyways, I hope to have a new book every month, but will stay grateful for them when they come.
This is my favourite audiobook series to date by far.

Pirate never fails to deliver.

I can never get enough of this series, which is why I am extreemly conscience of any rabbit trails or over indulged flair. The first half of the book was much of this, but the second half was amazing as usual.
If Pirate somehow pulls all this together and finishes all these arcs then make way for epicness.
I do feel that there is lots of wasted time though repeating or embellishing. Get to the meat of it!

Great entry in the series.

Loved the way this series continues to flesh out the world and events while continuing with Erin's story and that of Liscor. Love the events on Baleros. Only complaint is the wait for the next one!

Nice change of perspective

When you really enjoy a series, you always want more details about the characters mundane lives. This book might not have advanced the plot in a traditional sense, but it did provide some useful insights into the characters. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book

Dang it…I finally caught up and I’m bereft…

I’ve been absorbed by the world created by Pirateaba…for a few months. I never truly believed I’d catch up, but I have…now I wait for the next book…wait, is there gonna be a next book?

These “novels” are so good I’m beginning to suspect that world is real. Honestly, I have no great words other than this was AWESOME ! The ending left me with a smile.

Now, I will wait for the next book…I only want the Audiobook version because Andrea Parsneau has is perfection. She has gotten insanely good at doing the antineum purrrrr.

Best in the Series so far leaving so much to look forward to.

I loved every chapter, This Book I think is the best in the series. More cliffhangers then usual but Masterfully done. 40 hours wasn't enough for me.

Not my favourite, still 5 stars!

This series is so good. This instalment wasn’t my favourite and it *still* rates five stars from me. Every book in the series is either clearly 5 stars or exceptionally 5 stars. It’s nowhere near running out of steam yet.

There are lots of little errors at the sentence level, at the level of little phrases. But the characters and plot are compelling enough to make those errors irrelevant to my enjoyment of the series, where normally it would drive me crazy.

The narration is the best I’ve ever heard.
