Wonderful

I recommend getting both the audio and book. It comes free with the book purchase. I listened mostly and referred to the text when I needed to revisit and take time to digest certain paragraphs. Matt Kahn has a healing voice that's wonderful to listen to. It's an easy read, conversational in style, and packs a punch. I found myself uttering a deep 'mmmm' a lot as I viscerally felt the recognition of truth and integrated the knowing in my body. It's a wonderful book to enjoy, even for those who have taken the Hay House course by a similar title. For those who are new to his work, you're in for a treat!

Good for the author, but not for me

The author has found a way for him to make sense of and move past the negative events of his life, but makes the mistake of assuming what he found is a path to enlightenment that is equally applicable for others to traverse. There is far too much victim blaming for suffering, and far too little accountability applied to victimizers for actions they have taken.

He dismisses the choices made by victimizers as the universe casting them as victimizers and that they therefore did nothing wrong. I can't go with this at all. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, and those actions can be wrong. At the same time he encourages victims to not only forgive but to thank their victimizers for setting them on the path they are on. This is nonsense. Taking the path of healing was necessary due to the actions of the very people he is saying to thank. If the victims can't do this, he argues they're simply not far enough along to be able to yet.

This erasure of any fault by victimizers, while simultaneously blaming victims for their suffering, is a wholly unhealthy position that poses a potential danger to one's mental health and incidents of revictimization.

It is good that the author has found his own answers, but I don't feel those answers are appropriate for others - especially not for those who experienced major traumas during development.

In terms of performance, I found the author difficult to follow at times. The audio is not bad, but it lacks the crispiness present in many other recordings. When combined with the lack of emotion in his reading, it makes for a difficult listen.

this book brought me peace. the narrator's voice is very soothing as well. As a Muslim woman, I dont have the same religious views as the book but rather, similar spiritual views. I will read it again sometime!

Some Good Points

He wrote it backwards. He spends the first 3/4 of the book telling you to love everyone and no one is wrong kn their choices, until the end he answers the questions everyone is asking, "unless you are in an abusive relationship or they are a serial killer" Too much fluff; he could have made his point with a shorter book.

A perfect book and concise and helpful knowledge

This is by far the most perfect and easily accessible book about life and spiritual truths I have ever read. A book full of the truths for the times we are in-right on time. A book so full of wisdom and love that after each chapter I feel more in love with life and myself and feel the love from the universe. Matt’s voice is soft and clear and his personal stories are a tangible connection to a man I trust. I too have felt the way he describes his own pain and Matt being a few steps ahead to help guide is a gift to humanity. I will get the audible subscription just to hear this book as much as I want. I also bought the book and decorated the front cover how I creatively felt inspired, to make it mine, to keep by my bedside for a long long time. Enjoy!

If you are reading this, go for it!

If you are new to Matt as an author and are unsure whether to spend your precious money and time reading this book or listening to it, that itself is evidence that you need to indeed listen to this, or read the book. Matt channels what he writes and says, so hearing his voice makes the truth of his words even more potent. And, if you do go for it, why stop there...?
Get his Whatever Arises, Love That "Course" - the "green" audiobook where he channels his teachings about the book, instead of reading it. Chances are your heart will melt in the first five minutes of listening.

For Matt's books alone, Audible should change its rating system and turn the stars into hearts.
Love is here...

Sweet humble medicine

If you find yourself in a bit of a tantrum at life and are actually ready to harness the power of to pain, this book will get you there.

I started it in a studious way, not really “in need”, and then was blindsided by the loss of great love. Then I came back to this like a refugee as I grieved and I have found so much grace.

Going to listen again and really get it all in my consciousness. I really found his personal stories to be helpful to relate to my own stories and see the possibility for me to expand in love rather than contract and judge myself and others.

Thank you Matt Kahn, you rock!

You have to be ready to hear this

This was a phenomenal insight. Some of it, I think I already knew subconsciously but had never put into words before. You have to be ready to hear this though. If you’re not, you will just say this is BS. I only took away one star for performance- while his voice is super soothing and easy to listen to, I wish he had gone just a bit slower. There were many times where I had to jump back 30 seconds to hear something again. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels stuck in life.

This book has changed my life

The first time I started this book, I had to stop listening because the concept were too deep, going over my head and I could tell I wasn’t ready, I wasn’t at that level of consciousness yet. The second time I started listening, the gates opened up and I will never look at life or love in the same way again. So if you’re like me and start listening but it’s too much, put it down but make sure to come back. Best book, hands down.

Clarity

Matt has a way of wording things that bring so much clarity to concepts I’ve been studying for many years from various teachers. There were so many aha! Moments for me throughout this book and often I’d find myself emotional and on the verge of tears because the truth of his words resonated so strongly in my heart center.

I will definitely return to this work again and again as I integrate the teachings.
