It once seemed so easy to Prince Rhen, the heir to Emberfall. Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his 18th year over and over, he knew he could be saved if a girl fell for him. That was before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.

I never told anyone about that night. I shoved the shattered pieces of my soul into a locked box and pretended I'd never met Kian. But when a witch whispers a dire warning in my ear one day, everything changes. Because I don’t just have one mate. I have three. Feral shifters, she calls them. Wild, untamed, and fueled by darkness, created by a magic no one has ever seen before.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed. Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

Publisher's Summary
The throne is Valroy’s for the taking...but first, he needs a queen.
As the son of the Morrigan and heir to the vacant Unseelie throne, Valroy itches to shed the mantle of prince and take his place as king. To his great regret one ancient tradition stands in his way, demanding he first take a bride. With all the members of the Unseelie court proving to be insufferable, what is a prince to do?
Steal a human, of course.
Abigail often wonders if the townsfolk aren’t right in calling her cursed. Abandoned by her husband and with no family to call her own, everything in her life hangs by a thread. Never did she expect her downfall would come by taking pity on an old hermit. Abducted into the dangerous world of Tir n’Aill, Abigail is thrust into a terrifying Maze that defies all logic. There, she finds herself at the mercy of an Unseelie prince with a strange offer—solve his Maze and he'll grant her deepest wish....
If she can live that long.
From author Kathryn Ann Kingsley comes this tantalizing slow-burn dark fantasy that proves sometimes the line between love and hate is razor-thin.

Weird choice of narrator
Why they chose an old man with a proper british accent is mystery, it made it really hard for me to get into the book or to find the male mc attractive when he sounds like a 70yr old english butler. True enemies to lovers, slow burn, heavy on world building, somewhat alike to cruel prince but much better writing. Felt a little long but a good book and I look forward to the next.

Unredeemable characters with no chemistry
I should have DNFed the first time he threatened SA but I kept holding out due to the positive reviews. Shame on me for assuming the female lead would experience any form of character development or the male lead would have any redeeming characteristics beyond being hot.

Just a tease not a slow-burn
While I did enjoy this book it left something to be desired. When something is labeled as a "slow burn" you expect at least some "spicy" intimacy by the end of the book but sad to say that isn't the case here. When I think of a slow burn I think of tension building slowly and then a final release by the end. This book however, had no release at the end. There's a difference between a slow burn and just a tease and this one was unfortunately just a tease.

Decent book, terrible narrator
The voice of the narrator was so exaggerated at times that it almost was painful to continue listening to. The accent of the narrator made it hard to distinguish between characters when he tried to go back and forth.

man idk
I struggled. I did enjoy the story very much so but the narration became nails on a chalkboard. I enjoyed the story so much so I pushed through his repetitive inflections on each sentence shaking my fists in the air. His voice starts high emotional in the beginning of a sentence and then breathy and quite at end. Every. single. sentence. He also makes her sound like a mewling child and it doesn't fit the characters words right. I think i might buy the book to read myself. sad about it forsure. In closing-buy the book and read yourself.

The voice actor
When y’all commissioned this man to read this book out loud why did you not stop him after the first paragraph. I suppose Valroy was supposed to come of as haughty but he came off as middle aged man at the country club still relying on his daddy’s name to get him out of trouble for groping girls half his age.

The narrator ruined it for me
I did finish reading this book without the audible narration and honestly the book itself is fine, if a little predictable and without much depth. However, the audible narrator just didn’t do it for me. I’m sure it was meant to sound theatrical, and I’m also sure others wouldn’t mind, but I had to quit about 1/4 of the way through.
