Golf is a beloved yet technical game, so a sound swing and precise technique are essential. Most golfers who want to improve their skills go to the range and work painstakingly on their swings, not realizing it's often their performance state on the course that needs work, not their technique. Simple things such as awareness of your balance, tension, and tempo, as well as the ability to control mental, emotional, and social variables you encounter while playing, can quickly take your game to a new performance level.

Life changing book

Publisher's Summary
From the best-selling author of Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect, and the preeminent golf psychologist to the game’s top players, comes the defining guide to mastering the enormous challenges of chips, pitches, bunker shots, and putts.
It is no secret that more than two-thirds of the shots a golfer makes are shorts ones: putts, chips, and pitches. Long drives may garner applause, but whether a golfer wants to win the Masters or just five bucks from a friend on Saturday morning, it’s the little shots that make the difference.
In The Unstoppable Golfer, Dr. Bob Rotella takes the same wisdom and experience that have worked for clients like Davis Love III and David Toms to help you master this special art of short shots and avoid all the frustration out of this increasingly challenging element of the game. Requiring extraordinary levels of concentration, the short game is typically a source of fear for amateurs and pros alike. Here Dr. Rotella teaches listeners how to overcome that fear by using their minds to achieve a state of calm in which focus is on one thing alone: the hole. In addition, he explains the science of memory and how knowledge of the brain’s workings—especially those areas that deal with physical tasks—can markedly improve a golf game, particularly when it comes to getting out of a bunker or taking the measure of a long putt.
For casual and dedicated golfers alike, a better short game provides one of the ultimate pleasures of the game—a pleasure they will come to know by training their minds with The Unstoppable Golfer.

Good for first time readers
If this is your first Bob Rotella book I think you will find it informative, motivational and an enjoyable read. I have read 2 or 3 of his previous books and found this one to have the exact same information only with some updated examples and a new title.
If you've read one you have read them all, but for a first timer wanting to improve your mental golf game, I would recommend it.

Not my favorite
What would have made The Unstoppable Golfer better?
Using appropriate examples and references.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Any of the Zen Golf books.
What didn’t you like about Bob Rotella’s performance?
I am not a fan of his style. In other words, I am not buying what he is selling.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment and anger.
Any additional comments?
To be honest, I only made it through less than 1/4 of this book. He started to lose me when he used for examples, quotes by Madonna, George Lopez and Beyoncé. Seriously. If that is who or what he considers quality individuals to demonstrate an example, then he has nothing to offer me. I finally quit when he went on to defend Bob Knight. Perhaps these folks will be positive influences for you, but I had no interest in hearing more.

Narrator was awful
Sometimes, I matter how much you would like to give a co-author the ability to read the book for audible, and evaluation of their performance should override that sentimentality. This is the case here: the contact is lost do the narrators for speaking ability, tempo, and inflection

Shaved 6 strokes and counting!
I've been playing golf for 8 years. Around year 4 I got down to a 6 handicap and thats when the trouble started. My expectations for every round, every shot really was not commensurate with the work i was putting in. I fell to a 12 handicap for 3 yrs and then I found this book. Long story short; I shaved 6 strokes off my game and played far less golf than years previous. The fact that I shaved soo many strokes and was averaging less than a round per week was outrageous. I recommend this book to anyone that is READY to actually try and work on their mental approach to the game. I committed to the mental approach being that I have far less time at this stage in my life and I was ready to just enjoy the game again because I hadn't for 2 seasons prior. The best part about the book is that everyone takes something different from the book and elevates their game all the same.

This is a great book for you head!
I'm in the middle of a slump and need all the help I can get. Bob's voice alone is very calming and he is so sensible in his approach. I am learning to get out of my own way and listen and learn from him. Great book to listen to over and over again just to remind yourself of simple strategies to get back to the way you were or get better than you are. Love it. Going to buy his newer book that's from 2015. That's next....I wish I could hire him for in person sessions but that's probably not going to happen any time soon!!! Enjoy
