But Marlo’s flatmate Alex is determined to lift her out of her grinch slump and convince her that Christmas Down Under may be unfamiliar, but exactly what she needs to start her life on a new course. Alex, with his calm order and terrible Dad jokes. Alex, with his sparkling Christmas cocktails, his chiseled jaw and washboard abs. Alex, who’s going to turn Marlo’s Christmas wish list upside down.

it was very predictable, but I still enjoyed the storyline and the characters and it was well read

Predictable but sweet

I have a little under two hours left in this book but I just can’t listen anymore. I can’t imagine this will become anymore worth my time.

Without delving into too many spoilers, this story is just way too hum drum for me and not what I was hoping for. When I read the title Upside Down Christmas and the concept, I thought by now the story would be into more of some charming holiday shenanigans in the sun! But instead it’s just the main character wallowing for hours and questioning her life choices. And oh boy is the male roommate actually the love that’s been under her nose all along? I hope they don’t get together because it seems too cliche and unhealthy.

Really I do like these stories and I am willing to suspend my disbelief but I’m just not having any fun at all. I’m very disappointed.

Sweet little holiday story with an Aussie twist

Marlo didn't realize that one person who would be good for you was right in front of her face. Her roommate is Alex. After her current boyfriend ghosts her and she catches him with another woman, things between her and Alex become closer. She never realizes that Alex has always cared for her, right from the beginning.

A lovely story where she begins to enjoy Christmas again with the help of Alex. Since her mother died on Christmas, she has never enjoyed it until now.

I recommend this story; it is an enjoyable listen.
