Story
I was 12 when I promised Solo that I would one day marry him. Maybe I would have if he hadn't gotten impatient and ruined everything that summer when I was 15. For the last seven years I've replaced the love I once felt for him with anger over his almost getting me killed. Willow, a talented Motlander dancer, goes on tour in the Northlands. What should have been a chance for a new beginning brings her face to face with her traumatic past when Solo, a mountain of a man and the fiercest warrior of his generation, is put in charge of her safety against her will.

Story
Chosen to be a priestess from childhood, Athena knows everything about aligning her energy with the universe and spreading hope, healing, and wisdom to people. But her inner balance is disturbed when Finn shows up on her doorstep. The large, annoyingly flirtatious man kept her imprisoned in the past, and now demands she lift the spell she cast on him. Rather than explain to him that the spell wasn't real, Athena sees her chance of teaching him a lesson in karma and makes demands of her own.

Story
Four hundred years in the future, women control the world but Khan Aurelius, ruler of the last free men, is determined to take back the power that has been denied men for centuries. Outnumbered by far, he knows that women need to give up their power willingly and with one of their councilwomen as a hostage, he's certain he can influence her with his superior male intellect. She is just a soft woman, after all. Councilwoman Pearl has sacrificed herself to save an innocent priestess. Trapped in the Northlands, her soft voice and sugar-coated view of the world doesn't impress Khan.

Story
Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she's been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she's received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear. Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He's a man who can get you anything you want...at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects. But for one client, he's never asked for repayment. Not until now.

Publisher's Summary
Even the strongest man in the world has a weak spot!
Magni knows what he wants, and he's used to getting it. As the second-in-command in the Northlands, he doesn't care that he comes across as rude or domineering. Asking for permission or apologizing for his actions is for weaker men.
Six months ago, Laura was Magni's sweet and submissive young wife. Tempted to experience the independence of women in the Motherlands and to learn martial arts, she ran away. Now, she's back, stronger and more confident than before, determined not to let a man dominate her, not even the one she once fell in love with and married.
Is there a way for Magni and Laura to be a couple again with her need for independence and his need for control? And can someone as proud as Magni overcome his anger with Laura for leaving him in the first place?
Contains mature themes.

The best one so far!!!
Loved Magni and Laura. Great story with this couple and introduced several other characters for other books. It looks to be the students all grown up. Great series, has it's pit falls. I'm ready for the next one.

I love everything about this series
It's not just sappy romance. The plot and characters are all unique and interesting. I also like the narrators. So many book series lose my interest because they all start to sound alike but even with the ongoing storyline in this series I am not bored at all.

One of the best book 5's I've listened to.
Usually by book five everything is similar. This one was a great ending to the series. I love Lora and Magny's story (sp?). I know there are more but haven't read them yet, so don't know if they're side stories or a continuance but this is a happy stopping place for me.

Can't Get Enough of this Series!
I literally binge read thru all 5 books. Got hooked on the 1st book The Protector and couldn't stop reading until I finished the last page of the 5th book. Elin takes alpha man vs alpha women to an extreme level with the Nmen occupying Alaska and Canada and the women occupying the rest of the world which is called the Mother Land. These books are about the adventures of some of the men and women from these two extremely different cultures finding a way to fall in love and making their differences work so that they can live peacefully together. The concept of the books are extreme but they also show some of the real differences between men and women, why our relationships don't always work and why our relationships can work. The key to living in love is compromise - communicate and more compromise.
All the main Nmen in these books are very macho, masculine males who like to swear, fight and protect their women. I loved them all, even Magni who is the ultimate warrior but has a problem controlling his emotions.
I am looking forward to reading the next group of books. Y

Thought provoking love stories.
It brings futuristic feministic communism face to face with patriarchy old traditions of capitalism and marriage from today and marries them while having hot steamy love scenes between total opposites. I’ve heard the first books and can’t wait for the next.
