Publisher's Summary

Science has now proved the legendary Wim Hof method of breath control and cold training can dramatically enhance energy levels, improve circulation, reduce stress, boost the immune system, strengthen the body, and successfully combat many diseases. While Wim Hof himself has run marathons in -30 degress Celsius in shorts, swum hundreds of meters under the ice, sat in a tank of ice for 90 minutes without his core temperature changing, and boosted his metabolism by more than 300 percent, The Way of the Iceman documents how anyone can use Wim’s methods to transform his or her health and strength quickly and safely.

“After teaching specialized breathing techniques to SEALs for years, helping them focus, stay warm in the cold ocean and get centered in combat, I can attest to the authenticity and power of Wim Hof's methods. Wim Hof is providing a great service with his new book The Way of The Iceman by bringing breath training and simple, powerful health practices into mainstream consciousness.” (Mark Divine, US Navy SEAL (ret), founder of SEALFIT, best-selling author of Unbeatable Mind and Way of the SEAL)

What the critics say

"I am continuously searching for ways to expand my mind, body and spirit - Wim Hof and The Way of the Iceman have done just that! He shows us that human potential is limitless and we are ALL capable of anything we set our minds to.” (Lewis Howes, New York Times best-selling author of The School of Greatness)

“What fascinates me most about Wim Hof's method is the potential application for athletes.... [T]he science in this book shows that we can all amplify our recovery, maximize our pain tolerance, massively jack up energy levels and even learn to control inflammation...and it can be done without resorting to toxic drugs. In fact, the system outlined in this manual might just be the key to producing a generation of enhanced but drug-free athletes.” (Paul “Coach” Wade, author of Convict Conditioning)

no Hasselhoff haha

lot of good information especially like the breathing techniques since I learned some similar ones training in Russian Systema and they work so it wasn't foreign to me to think of adopting this method it actually makes a lot of sense

Good for WHM beginners

Despite what other reviews say there are descriptions of techniques that you can practice yourself at home, starting in chapter 4 with cold training, further along there are breathing exercise examples. This book is great for beginners of the WHM. I highly recommend it for a good balance of history, science and practical application. Looking forward to the next book about the WHM.

Narrator Screws Up!

In chapter 5 the narrator screws up a sentence and THEY LEFT IT IN! He literally screws it up, stops, and takes it again. That means that no one cared enough to edit this recording or check it. Really lazy. Hard to take the subject matter seriously when the producers don't.

Good story but little practical use

Good story but little practical use as such I would not recommend you wasting your time or money on this book. Perhaps the actual techniques work but you will not find them in this book.

Wow!

This was a great and easy listen, some of the science is hard to follow but overall I feel like I got the message and am excited to start the Wim Hof method and share it with as many people as possible!

Could have been one paragraph

Too much fluff. The book is over two hours long but the breathing exercise and cold therapy is covered in less than five minutes, the rest is fluff.

Just listen to podcast

I was hoping to get more instruction into his method, but it fell short. The book pretty much just said the same thing Hof said on the podcast with Tim Ferriss.

No info you can't get in 5 min for free on YouTube

This book is so short it shouldn't be called a book at all. This is all covered in YouTube by Win Hof himself. So do not waste a credit or money on this.

No actual information just self inflated bragging.

Just self inflated bragging. No techniques are taught in this book. Self congratulatory piece of advertisement you pay to listen to.

Scientific info supporting WHM

The author takes scientific research and explains it in easy to understand language. Useful info if you are beginning WHM.

The info contian in this Book could be Lifesaving

The info in this book give a great jumpstart to dive deeper into an area of Life giving knowledge that should be, if the information here in is true, practiced and lived by ALL.

Not worth the time

Very short and general.
Basically, breath deeply and take cold showers.
And be disciplined about it.
Just another attempt at making a few more bucks off the WHM name.
Very disappointing.

a looong commercial!

Very little interesting material. Rather a list of anecdotes
Flat writing. It felt like reading a cheap magazine in a waiting room.
