The best narration!
There are many free versions of this literary masterpiece available and, right here on Audible, more than two dozen other options to buy. I can't say I've heard them all but did sample many before landing on this one. The late Michael Hordern's narration perfectly captures the mood of the story (and this is a book about mood). It's like a warm blanket with a cup of tea, sitting by the fire on a cold winter's day.

Perfect Reading
Michael Hordern’s rough but gentle voice is perfect for this classic. He refuses to rush things and the leisurely pace suits the mood of the story. Delightful.

Cozy, nostalgic sleep aid
This story is beautifully written and narrated. It’s cute, whimsical, and quirky while making you feel like you’re forest bathing. The only problem is, the narrator is so soothing that I haven’t been able to listen to more than five minutes at a time without falling asleep. If you suffer from insomnia, this is the audiobook for you!
