Boring
Despite being well read, it was hard to listen to because it was boring. The “reveal” was painful. Though the narrator was good, her inability to say “sir Simon” as two words was annoying. It sounded as though she was stuttering and saying “Sa-Simon” over and over. I finally had to look up the characters to figure out what she was saying. I won’t be buying any more in this series.

Refreshing mystery!
I love the storytelling and the unfiltered love for the queen. It captures a side of her people normally don’t see. I appreciate it is fiction but love to think that it’s based on real life. Not the murders of course but the spunky behaviour of the monarch. Such fun!

Great story and performance
This story is clever and thoughtfully done. The author portrays Queen Elizabeth II in a realistic light, with humour and perspective. Lots of little details shows that the author has done quite a bit of research. The narrator does an excellent job with different voices, and I especially like the Queen’s.

Wise Windsor Woman!
A fun read! Gave me a plethora of knowledge about the monarchy, how it functions, and a feeling for our long-serving queen who deserves much praise. This is a intricate novel with a lot of characters. The Queen doesn't disappoint in her adept detective methods and her ability to have various staff work independently of each other. Lots of humour! Our Queen has a keen mind, cares for others and I will stop there because you want to read this delightful crime novel!

An intelligent, gentle and intriguing crime novel
This book really does require some thinking and was a fun read as well. The characters are intelligent and I’m hoping we’ll see them again. I usually read a couple of books at the same time, depending on how I feel. However, once I started this book I needed to keep with it until it was finished.
There is a gentle humour and the Queen is portrayed as the kind of person you’d hope she is.
Jane Copeland’s narration is spot on and her character voices are appropriate and understated.
All in all a highly recommended read or listen.

Great Book
I really enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it.
However, I found it a little difficult to listen to as the narration switches between Queen Elizabeth and her secretary Rosie but with the audio there is nothing to indicate when the switch happens. I plan to read the second book when it comes out later this year but I will read the hard copy instead of listening to the audio.

Wonderful!
I don't buy into the whole"anointed by God" thing, but I do have immense respect for our Queen.
Yes, OUR Queen because she demonstrates daily what it means to be royal.
The narrator is very good and brings the characters to life. The writing is tight, the plot is intriguing.
Get this book. You won't regret it.

Completely wonderful!
This book appeals on so many levels! It's a great semi-cozy mystery (with crimes only a little grittier than usual), incorporating insights into British history and royals that will appeal to Anglophiles and royal watchers, as well as psychological insights into how the real Queen Elizabeth II just might feel and act. Perhaps not quite plausible, but so well explained and justified that the reader can't help but wonder....It's a lovely paean to a dedicated and gracious monarch.
I wouldn't call it "hilarious," as the cover comment does. To the contrary, it's a sobering peek into the queen's myriad responsibilities and even more into the expectations and restrictions she must deal with. Still, there are plenty of amusing moments where her courtiers try to protect the "delicate" sensibilities of a woman who has endured giving up her freedom to devote herself to her country, family tragedy and humiliation, and so much more. As a "woman of a certain age" myself, I recognized the patronization and could only say, "You go, girl!" as she accomplished so much with only the aid of her young assistant private secretary.
The narrator is marvelous, well suited to this application.
I was completely delighted by this book and looked up the author to see if she had inside knowledge of the royal family or their residences. Apparently she is simply a long-time royal watcher, but clearly she also understands human nature and the makings of a good detective story. I'm pleased to see she has several sequels in the pipeline and will eagerly watch for them.

Surprisingly Fun and Believable
Maybe the real Queen Elizabeth II doesn't solve murders, but this novel presents her in such a way that her involvement and character feel quite believable. The Queen is a thoroughly likeable and understanding individual in her own way - this is a very positive and fascinating character that I would like to think is not all that far off from the actual person. The murder she gets involved in is handled in a very logical manner, yet I did not see the solution until it was presented. Very well read by Ms. Copeland - she does an excellent job of creating the 'feel' of various characters. Highly recommended.

The Queen as Sleuth
I thoroughly enjoyed this lighthearted mystery. I loved that it was set in modern times often mentioning various members of the royal family. I also enjoyed showcasing the queen as involved with all that happens in her realm in spite of what some might think. Having the young woman on her staff helping solve the mystery of 3 deaths but also showing empathy for those who were left behind.

I feel smarter after listening to this book.
This was a really good book. Jane Copland did a really wonderful job of narrating this book. At one point the queen said "aging is such an undignified process". That actually sounds like something someone like the queen would say. So true. I really liked the characters. I also liked that the queen liked the Obamas. I want an English accent. They sound classy even when Sir Philip said fart. That can't be easy. I really enjoyed the humor.

Well worth a credit
The stars of the book are Queen Elizabeth and Rozie...both superbly characterized, and very likeable. The plot was strong, too. The summation near the end was a bit less, but maybe because it was turned over to a not very likeable man who wasn't Elizabeth or Rozie. I enjoyed this and would read another installment. I could have done without some of the explicit details, but it didn't detract too much. Nothing whatsoever to criticize in the narration.
