Content enough with her work on the farm, looking after her father, and learning the secrets of her grandmother Bett’s healing hands, nevertheless Grace still hopes for love. But these are dangerous times for dreamers, and rumours and gossip can be deadly. One mis-move and Grace’s fate looks set…

Separated by three hundred years, two women are drawn together by a home bathed in blood and magic. Grace Cotter’s spirit needs to rest, and only Selena can help her now.

I had bought this book months ago but had not listened right way. I wish I had. Great story and expertly performed.

Unexpected Jewel in my Library

I really enjoyed this story and it was expertly read. It's important to know about how women were treated years ago, how they had no rights. My mother couldn't get a credit card in her own name in the 1970s without my father's consent. I like how the story has a woman from the 1600s and a woman from the 2020s have different outcomes from similar situations, it shows how far we have come. * Spoiler alert - don't read this until after you've read the book *: The only thing I would have changed is that I would have had the two main characters actually see each other face to face.

A great portrayal of women then and now

Lovely story, good narration. Would recommend, easy to put down and pick up again.I liked the references to the herbs and what ailments they were used for.

I read a lot of witch related books and love a good time slip novel so was happy to find a new one. Right away I was struck by how quickly the author had me caring about both main characters and how much the mystery took hold of my thoughts. The ghost story elements were also fun. Not sure if I would have been so emotionally moved by the plot if I had just been reading it - I think because I have read so much about the persecution of wise women and healers, and ordinary women during the witch trial centuries that I am often slightly removed and reading from an historical perspective. The narrator of this book reads with such gentle warmth and empathy that I found myself genuinely sad and teary in parts. So I recommend this to anyone who enjoys the topic and to anyone wanting to see what time slip and historical fiction is about!

Excellent Narration and Moving Story
