Story
It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Story
Survival in Man’s Second Dark Age...Three hundred years after the fall of society, the last fragments of civilization are clinging to life, living in the ruins of the ancient cities in nearly-medieval conditions. Technology has been reduced to legend, monsters roam the forests, and fear reigns supreme. But that is just the beginning...The wind-borne spores are spreading, disfiguring men and twisting their minds, turning them into creatures that threaten to destroy the townships.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Story
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

At least I finished it...
I spend at least 6 hours a day in a car driving for my job. I am always listening to a book. The last two years it’s been all about zombies. I’ve literally listened to hundreds of books and this one was decent. Not outstanding like “Prepared” by Courtney Konstantin but really kept my attention most of the time and was well done. I’ve stopped listening to many books right in the middle because they are so boring or are just ridiculously stupid. This series is definitely worth the credit. I’d try it for sure! Good female lead

Not good
Mediocre at best. Story is boring....so very boring. It had potential and failed at every turn.
The narrator also didn’t shine. It’s a one note performance. Also, she mispronounces multiple words multiple times. Google is your friend.
I regret this purchase.

Average zombie yarn
I struggled with this but I suspect that is due to how many I’ve read; I think if this is your first you may have a different experience. It’s an ok story but doesn’t bring anything new to the genre; also plagued with many, many questionable choices by the protagonists.

boring, predictable PC craptacular
Zombie fiction is pretty much a genre unto itself. You can find a great deal better than this crappy, craptacular crap-fest. I absolutely hated it and did not finish it. It's derivative, it's PC and it stars a Mary Sue: all the BS trademarks that make millennial fiction completely worthless. Your first clue is zombies crawling out of a hole because... climate change, then Mary-Sue takes over and it goes downhill with all the usual cliches like insane, corrupt military officers, Mary-Sue knowing better than actual scientists what to do and a host of completely incompetent beta males. Save your credits for something that reeks a great deal less than this turd sandwich.

One of the greatest audio books that I have had th
This is one of the most phenomenal audio books that I have ever listened to. You know how some are boring at the beginning and later in the book the plot thickens? Not this audio book. It was full of suspense from the beginning to the end. I loved this audio book because it had a whole different theme to it. Yes, there was a "micro virus" that that started this outbreak but the setting of this book will blow your socks off. The crazy part about it is that I used to live in those places where the book took place. I was scared shitless listening to this book. This book gave me an anxiety attack and could not sleep. I almost read the book in one day. I could not stop listening. I love the endurance of the people, especially the leader of this book. Her name is Jennifer and her cute little ninja friend Zeke was so loyal to the end. He is your typical teenager, but very brilliant. It was sad, scary, full of suspens, and most of all scary as hell. I had a hair rasing experience. I approve this book. You will also get a kick out of what "Jenn" is able to do in the end.

Young Adult at best...
Not sure who ruined it for me more, the author or the performer. Now I'm a self professed zompoc snob- If it has flesh eating dead people I've either read it, or it's on my list. I found the writing style to be simple with two dimensional characters. The plot is interesting enough, but the execution needs work. At one point its made known that they are runners, only to be described as "shambling" a few sentences later. As for the reader, she puts as much inflection in as if you had Alexa reading it to you. At normal speed she reads fast and if you slow it down she sounds like she has a head injury. I recommend Zombie Rules or White Flag of The Dead instead.
