Publisher's Summary

This audiobook includes the entire Zulu Virus Chronicles series in one boxset. Tons of chilling, post-apocalyptic thriller action and suspense.

Something insidious has arrived - right in the heartland of our nation, turning neighbor against neighbor!.

Dr. Lauren Hale, a new hospital resident, is nearly killed by a raving mad emergency room patient, in a senseless, unprovoked attack.

Officer David Olson, veteran cop and former Marine, returns from a father-son camping trip to discover that his ex-wife has vanished under bizarre circumstances, and his police department is on the verge of collapse.

Jack and Emma Harper, a young, upwardly mobile couple, find their hip city neighborhood rapidly descending into madness.

Dr. Eugene Chang, a research scientist for a major pharmaceutical company, makes a shocking discovery that might explain the spreading wave of illness and violence gripping the city. Eric Larsen, leader of a top-secret, rapid-response unit, circles high above the Midwest, in an unmarked military transport. Mission still unknown, his team waits to parachute into the night.

Within 24 hours, complete strangers from different walks of life will be forced to join together to survive the living nightmare that has been unleashed on their city - and their country.

This is their story.

Welcome to the Zulu Virus Chronicles!

Good But

This was a good overall set of books but it needed two narrators so it wasn't so confusing.

engaging realism

I really liked all the characters. it's rare that a story depicts TWO strong characters with similar backgrounds but very different attitudes finding ways to work together. although their journey is not an epic one, it makes sens and that is what I liked

another great series

I love this author so much! he writes some very good, action packed, great imagery, awesome storytelling/plots, books ! I only hate it when the series ends bc I always feel connected to the families & characters , and feel like I come out of a distant land away from home/reality. I laugh so hard, get so upset, & just enjoy thoroughly everything hes written so far. please keep it up - you have gained another fan!!!

Good story, HORRIBLE narration

The story is very good, I’m enjoying it through two books so far. BUT..... the narration is ridiculous. The guy reading the story gives characters voices that are a cross between extreme stereotypes and Sesame Street characters. I was fighting to pay attention to the content of the story in spite of the narration. It’s really that bad. He narrates a 17 year old kid as though he were 12, and he makes another character sound like Kermit the Frog. There’s a military character named Ochoa that he makes sound like a member of MS-13. Just because the guy has a Latino last name doesn’t mean he has to have an extremely stereotypical accent. If you can find a version that doesn’t not have Charles Hubbell as narrator, I would recommend it.

Best narration EVER! Finally a book that keeps you engaged! With one issue...

Loved the story and it kept me interested the whole time! But I am sick and tired of all these authors that only have “he said” “she said” “said, said, said” in their vocabulary. What about “replied, acknowledged, stated, screamed, pointed out, wondered, etc.? How hard can that be?! Such a rookie move.
The narration. Was incredible. It was one guy who did about 20 different voices! Unbelievable. I need to listen to more of his books. He’s amazingly talented! Loved him.

distracted by excessive profanity

Why the author thought the use of profanity was necessary for higher ratings on this series is beyond me. Would have otherwise enjoyed reading

He said... She said... Said, said, said

I am only about an hour in but the amount of times you hear the word "said" you could be be playing a drinking game that severely punishes your liver.

I don't know if I will be able to get through the rest of the book if I can't get over this (rather petty, I know) annoyance.

Worst narration EVER!!!!

I enjoyed the story and most likely will finish reading the book, but the narration was horrible. It really took away from the story to a degree I didn't think was possible. Still I tried to finish listening to it, but the last straw was the latino guy that sounded like Speedy Gonzales. A book with cartoon characters would be perfect for the narrator, he has talent in that respect. I did read the reviews before hand and thought that the narrator could not be that bad. Well, this is the first time I return a book to Audible that has a good story. Oh, one last thing, Kermit The Frog's voice is definitely in the narrator's arsenal.

Well done for a high school writing course

Except, this is not a high school writing assignment. And, unlike some slow starting books, this doesn't get better if you keep listening. The characters are flat. They do silly things. Everybody is incredibly noble or incredibly evil. The motivation or even the objective of the bad guys is never explained. They released a terrible virus, we never know why. Apparently this highly sophisticated extremely well funded secret group of villians is just creating anarchy for their own jollies. It doesn't really get wrapped up in the end. It just stops. Maybe there will be more bad books to finish it.

may have been good if it was read by another.

The main thing that made it so I couldnt finish this book was the narrator. this is the only book that I have bought that I was unable to finish.

Continuous action

A different angle on the zombie apocalypse and government conspiracy. Need another to close out the story.
