Publisher's Summary

The star of TLC's Long Island Medium shares her extraordinary gift and reveals how she helps people who have lost loved ones find peace, closure, and healing.

In her highly anticipated new book, brassy and beloved medium Theresa Caputo, star of the hit television show Long Island Medium, opens the door to her world and invites us to experience her exceptional gift of communicating with those who've crossed over to The Other Side. The always funny, frank, and down-to-earth medium began communicating with Spirit at the age of four, but didn't fully accept her gift until she was 33 years old. She had a good life as a busy wife and mom, but also suffered from chronic anxiety that came from ignoring her unique abilities. Once Theresa began channeling, she discovered that she felt much better after delivering a message from Spirit and releasing that energy. Since then she's used her extraordinary gift to help countless people heal from the loss of their loved ones.

Theresa makes us all aware that there is more to life than what we see here in the physical world. She wants you to know that our deceased loved ones are safe and at peace assisting us from The Other Side. She also wants you to realize that the unexplainable things you sense and feel from these souls are real, and that it's healthy and essential to acknowledge them.

There's More to Life than This explains how Theresa's mediumship works, what happens to our soul when we die, what Heaven is like, what the deceased want us to know, the importance of living a positive life, and the many roles that our family, friends, angels, guides, and God play here and in the afterlife. It also explores how to safely connect with Spirit, so that we can recognize when our loved ones are reaching out.

Combining Theresa's personal story, compelling anecdotes, and client readings, this remarkable book teaches us about Spirit and helps us understand the life-affirming messages that are sent to us every day.

Interesting, but hard to listen to!

What did you love best about There's More to Life than This?

I have watched Theresa Caputo on television and while she is an original, I do believe much of what she experiences is true. I was glad to learn more about her life and experiences in this book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I feel terrible saying this, but Theresa did a horrible job narrating her own book! I know she had assistance writing it but she reads it as if she isn't even aware what is coming next. Her delivery is monotone, she pauses mid-sentence at times and it feels like she is reading someone else's book aloud. That was VERY distracting from the experience. If the author of a book is not good at reading it with emotion and as if they are storytelling (as Theresa should be since it's HER life story) then they should not do the audiobook.

Any additional comments?

Great book. Theresa Caputo is not a good narrator and I am surprised they didn't spot this in production and work with her to improve her delivery of the text.

What did you like best about this story?

I don't know that I could pick a favorite part. What I loved the most were Theresa's insights and descriptions of her ability and readings. She makes the other side feel so familiar and close that it brings comfort to me.

What about Theresa Caputo’s performance did you like?

She is so funny and endearing!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved by so many of her stories about specific readings. They helped put her descriptions of her gift and of spirit, in context.

Any additional comments?

I hope that she writes another book soon!

Helped me to stop worrying about my son

My son died almost 4 years ago & I've driven myself crazy with the "What if's". I've seen Theresa's show & I believe in her. She taught me that, he didn't go to hell just because he took his own life, that nothing I did could have changed what happened, and that he's happy & at peace where he is. I've been told all the same things at Church, but hearing it from someone who's not Clergy makes me believe it's true & not just someone trying to make me feel better. Theresa's reading is a little choppy, but it's because she's making sure to speak slower & enunciate her words for people who have trouble understand Long Island accents. She does a great job speaking clearly & concisely.

I Want 7 Hours of My Life Back

This audio book was a complete waste of time. Listening to Theresa Caputo narrate her own experiences in a way that sound loke she's reading every sentence for the first time is maddening. She sounds like she doesn't even believe this stuff herself. I like to believe there's something beyond this life, but this woman comes off as a straight up fraud. The only good thing about this book was that it finally ended. I feel taken, which is likely how a lot of her clients felt after her so-called channeling. I'm astonished at the positive reviews this book has received. You can dismiss me as a non believer or a skeptic all you want, but this woman is getting rich off of other people's grief and desperate need for some kind of closure. God's white light indeed.

Theresa is the Real Deal

What made the experience of listening to There's More to Life than This the most enjoyable?

Everything, her personality is what made it most enjoyable and that she read her own book makes it even more personal. I also love how much content she covers. Anything you ever wondered about the afterlife she discusses.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Theresa of course, her personality is so fun and she tells amazing stories about her readings, I never got bored.

What about Theresa Caputo’s performance did you like?

She had very high energy, it wasn't overwhelming but the content she covers can be sad but she made it happy throughout.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she talks about God, heaven, everything. I have met other mediums and they say the same thing, she is the real deal!!

Thoroughly enjoyed! And I really do believe her.

Whatever your thoughts and beliefs... Just do it! Buy this audio book and listen with sincere, undivided, attention. Put ALL of your conceptions, partialities, prejudices and bias on the side for a time. Theresa Caputo really does an exceptional job of courageously sharing what it's like for her being a medium as well as explaining the afterlife, the spirit world, energy - both positive and negative, answers to stuff uncertain, advice, comfort and just altogether, I believe to be good and real information. Overall, this audio book was most interesting and intriguing. I will reference this audio book again and again. I, for one, do believe her.

Loved it!!

I was skeptical of Theresa at first but recently saw her live and have a whole new perspective of her abilities. I thought her book was going to just be stories of readings over the years but this isn't the case. She talks a lot about Spirituality, God, and the afterlife. She has such a beautiful soul.

not so sure

I was a fan of TC , but this book made me wonder. The afterword by the ghost, play on words, writer was annoying and too patronizing. My question is T said she wasn't sure of her gift until after her children were toddler age, after going to see Pat., but then later talks about seeing the fly/and knowing it was Nana right after giving birth to her daughter. Also, not sure God would want her using the gift to persuade people one way or another for $. And lastly, why and how would Pat need to help a departed soul go to the light. wouldn't God be capable of moving the soul along or teaching passed souls. I don't doubt her gift but feel uncomfortable the way she uses it. She also is way too happy and always positive about hard lessons that must be learned. I do like that she lifts the weight but people should be able to do this without T.

I needed to hear this

This book has helped me to heal a little more. I also understand signs from our loved ones more clearly and I no longer feel like "I'm just imagining things". I'm looking forward to the next book.

Love her...She's so funny...

I think Theresa is just hilarious, in a good way. I love this topic and can never get enough of it. Theresa tells some great stories of her experiences with mediumship, but adds so much humor to it, the book is just totally enjoyable. I love that she narrates it herself, because how she means things comes over loud and clear...

If you enjoy her tv show, you'll love the book, or if you just love reading about the other side, you'll enjoy her stories.
