Publisher's Summary

Magic runs the world. It wins wars, grows crops, enables trade, and even fixes the crapper. If magic runs the world, then the men and women who wield it rule the world. But not all witches and wizards are created equal.

Rhett Allen is the thirdborn son of a minor lord trying to figure out his life after university. When a sudden family catastrophe throws his plans into chaos, he must make a decision. Should he do what people expect him to do or chart his own course? With all the gold to his name, he sets off into a chaotic world of dangerous creatures, even more dangerous humans, and other situations that no thirdborn should face alone. Thankfully, he meets a few good women along the way.

Warning: Thirdborn is 18+. It contains adult situations, language, violence, and harem elements.

MC has no character development

I'm trying to like this story.
The problem I have, is that from the beginning of the story to the end, the main character never develops. The MC creates a fantastic weapon during the story and yet never uses it. The overall story is fun and appealing, the world building is well done, but the main character starts off as a useless t** and ends up as a useless t**. If this was a story of a weakling among strong people, I could get behind that. Still there has to be some sort of development towards leveling the playing field, otherwise, what am I holding to? the MC might as well be an NPC, for all his usefulness. Maybe the author is trying to do more, across the course of multiple books, so I may give the second book a chance. Crossing my fingers
