Story
In the early hours of a summer morning, a young woman steps into the path of an oncoming bus. A tragic accident? Or suicide? At the center of this puzzle is Adrian Wolfe, a successful architect and grief-stricken widower, who, a year after his third wife's death, begins to investigate the cause. As Adrian looks back on their brief but seemingly happy marriage, disturbing secrets begin to surface. The divorces from his two previous wives had been amicable, or so it seemed; his children, all five of them, were resilient as ever, or so he thought.

Well...
I have listened to several Lisa Jewell - I enjoy most of her books, but this one (and another one or two to be honest) was about characters I never really cared about, so I never really cared about what happened to them. I finished the book as I was mildly curious... Good narration.

Stupid stupid stupid. The first Audible book I cannot finish. How can this be her latest book? It’s written as 2001 - characters are awful. This has to be Lisa Jewell’s first novel attempt rescued from a moldy attic. I really want a refund.

I love Lisa Jewell but.....
I have greatly enjoyed all of the studies I’ve read/listened to from Lisa Jewell. I have also enjoyed some previous stories narrators by Helen Duff. This, however, was a painful listen. Story wise, it was good. Though I was distracted and irritated by random, highly unnecessary bits of bigoted homophobia tossed in so causally. The performance, however, was far more distracting as it had numerous tongue clicks or lip smacks that were grating as can be. I also could hear her turn the pages she was reading so often! It was very distracting and annoying.

Delightful story
Really enjoyed another Lisa Jewel Rom Com. Albeit predictable the storyline was just complicated and hilarious enough to keep this reader unable to shut off the recording and get some sleep. This could be a great movie. Reese Whitherspoon should check it out. Thank you Lisa Jewell. Sadly that was the very last of your books I had yet to read. Hope you are working on another. And BTW the narration by Helen Duff could not have been more perfect.

Her voice just suites Lisa’s stories so well. I always choose her narrations first. Story is cleanly tied into a bow. I love that Lisa does that. I just don’t like wondering or imagining the characters life after... but that’s just me.

Least favorite Lisa Jewell book
I loooooove nearly all of Kids Jewell's books and this one is my least favorite. It was slow in the beginning and then picked up near the end, but not in a way I enjoyed. I felt like her other books had more we'll written storylines and interesting plots. This one just fell really short for me.

Favorite Lisa Jewell book
I’ve been listening to as many of Lisa Newell’s books as I can. I always find them completely immersive, fascinating and I speed through them because I can’t seem to turn them off. I saw a negative review on this one and I just had to counteract it. This was definitely my favorite Lisa Jewell book. It was so perfect I’m sad i finished it and can no longer go back and visit these characters.
