This Is Not Real Life is a memoir about the total, unfiltered chaos behind the scenes of my time in media.

From an evangelical upbringing and a steady diet of Fox News to going viral and playing my first part in media disinformation, to meeting with terrorists, neo-Nazis, intelligence agents, and political crime rings. There's coke binges, MDMA diplomacy with enemies, a nuclear-grade marriage meltdown, and a trail of scandals across five continents. I was arrested in Turkey and Morocco, got banned from the UK, and maybe(?) violated international sanctions. Finally, a psychotic break, addiction, and the dark art of conspiracy.

I wrote this book to claw my way back to reality. I hope it helps you to do the same.

Lauren hit the nail on the head with this book. I’ve been watching Lauren’s videos since Jordan Peterson’s fight against Bill C-16. I appreciated Lauren’s search for truth in Canada’s polite and unconfrontational society. After she joined Rebel News, I saw her slide further toward the fringes of the right. Truth didn’t seem to be at the top of the agenda anymore. I understand now how easily that change can happen. The self-reflection and honesty in this book are what we need in society today.

Lauren shares her side of everything, her personal journey through political journalism and the effects it had on her. This isn't a blame book, more a reflection and processing of all that went on. A must read for people in our politically divisive internet world.

As a 97 GenZ Mellenial hybrid my late teens to now late 20s have been consumed by videos, podcasts and social media posts of people like ben shapiro, tim pool, steven crowder and rebel news. I remember it all beginning for me in 2016 with Lauren Southern. This book is a phenomenal telling of the rot that has taken hold of our minds which is now undoubtedly being used to form our world views.
I've decided to delete all social media. Fitting that the same person who brought me into the sickness and drama of people I don't even know is the same person that will free me from it.
