Publisher's Summary

Without royal leadership, Kozalin's defenders are falling into turmoil, but mortal problems pale in insignificance when the Gods themselves take an interest in Daniel. With new enemies appearing everywhere he looks, and far too many secrets to keep, can even Daniel's magic save the day?

Well, you know what they say. If you can't get results with violence, you aren't being violent enough...

Warning: This novel contains graphic violence, explicit sex, problematic opinions, and a protagonist who has no interest in being normal. Listen at your own risk.

Long wait but worth it

After reading the third installment so long ago and then returning to Daniel's coven I will honestly say that I wasn't enjoying the book that much at first. But as soon as Alana stepped in the book because amazing and I couldn't stop listening.

Obsessed

Love this series! It makes me so happy! I purchased the book and audiobook to support the author because I love the series so much. the narration is fantastic, each character is different and there is a clear distinction for each character. Lots of growth and Daniel being badass as always. There’s a lot to like about this series, and I can’t wait until the next one!!!

Change up

This book is less city building and more exploring the new setting after being kidnapped by the norse gods

this book has a lot of very strange adult content,

This book is full of very strange adults contest, but if that doesn't bother you the story is excellent in the performance is amazing. It left room to go somewhere so there may be another book coming, but I love where it is going!

Kinda disappointed

I wrote a longer review of this story on goodreads already when I read the book in kindle form. I love the series but this installment left me disappointed for a number of reasons: the excessive amount of sex, the fact that so many of the characters from previous books are absent after the first few chapters, the fact that all the women are flat boring characters that are all bi-sexual and overwhelmingly desire Daniel, the suggestion that Daniel will go on a space traveling journey, the coincidence that his familiar just happens to be the most ancient and powerful dryad in the world where as in the previous book she was just a regular dryad, the incredibly offensive act of shredding all female souls that go to Valhalla/ Asgard, and last but most infuriating- the fact that all the Norse gods and men are the same stupid cookie cutter lying rapists jerks as the demigod sons of Gia. I find this portrayal of the Norse gods offensive and unbelievable- why would anyone worse any of these gods?!?!?

But I digress, those are all plot points. My opinion of this audio performance is also one of disappointment. Maybe it’s because it has been a few years, I don’t know, but despite having the same wonderful narrator the portrayal of characters in voice choices is infuriatingly off. The Viking Demi-god, Brand, sounds like the brother of Mara that Daniel killed at the end of the last book. Half of the women in Daniels coven sound wrong, but then again after chapter seven we don’t see them again so that’s hardly noticeable. Probably the worse part is that the dryad Daniel has taken as a familiar and Aphrodite sound like Pelaglia from the previous audio books. It’s like the reader or producers or someone forgot to review their previous work and couldn’t keep things straight this time around.

Oh well. Maybe the next book will be better and have more fun wizardry stuff and less excessive pornography.

Fantastic ...Spoiler

This book filled in some blanks and Daniel finally is getting smarter. I can't wait to see what his new body can do. Will he become a God...
