À propos de cet audio

From the New York Times bestselling author of Heated Rivalry comes a merry and bright hockey romance about finding your place, finding your people and finding your way back to the one you love the most.

"Rachel Reid's hockey heroes are sexy, hot, and passionate!" —#1 New York Times bestselling author Lauren Blakely

For Landon Stackhouse, being called up from the Calgary farm team is exciting and terrifying, even if, as the backup goalie, he rarely leaves the bench. A quiet loner by nature, Landon knows he gives off strong “don’t talk to me” vibes. The only player who doesn’t seem to notice is Calgary’s superstar young winger, Casey Hicks.

Casey treats Landon like an old friend, even though they’ve only interacted briefly in the past. He’s endlessly charming and completely laid-back in a way that Landon absolutely can’t relate to. They couldn’t have less in common, but Landon needs a place to live that’s not a hotel room and Casey has just bought a massive house—and hates being alone.

As roommates, Casey refuses to be defeated by Landon’s one-word answers. As friends, Landon comes to notice a few things about Casey, like his wide, easy smile and sparkling green-blue eyes. Spending the holidays together only intensifies their bromance-turned-romance. But as the new year approaches, the countdown to the end of Landon’s time in Calgary is on.

In this standalone novel from the Game Changer Series (GCS), the story takes its time to build the characters, play with them, and build a whole universe and Cooper North (who read the GCS Volume 2) returns and creates two completely separate characters creating the illusion that there multiple voices. The playful Casey and the uber-serious Landon make a great pair that reveals that Casey is not as ill-advised as you think and that Landon does have a heart. While the characters and stories are great, I do have to say the portrayal of Mike and Joanna Stackhouse could use some re-working as early 50's Haligonian's (I am one!) don't sound like that.

The person telling the story was so good. I love the way he portrayed casey, I can really close my eyes and get a real image of what he would look like. As usual Rachel tells amazing stories with amazing character. 5 stars.

The narrator was excellent.

Adorable story. Casey is a human golden retriever and Landon is more closed off and private. It was interesting to see how their relationship evolved since Casey was a quite sexual bi man and Landon had not yet figured out his labels but started off sounding ACE and then in the end was maybe more Pan. The way their families were instantly onboard and supportive was so nice to see. No one made them feel bad about who they loved. My only complaint is Cooper North’s pronunciation of Canadian words. It’s not his first Canadian set book and yet his pronunciation of: toque, Saskatchewan, and Saskatoon were not good.

Adorable

It’s an easy listen, cute. Not as good as her main series. Wish it was another in her series.

The voice actor could not pronounce toque correctly.

there are so many words that are mispronounced and pull me out of the story. Clearly this wasn't read by a Canadian voice actor because Calgary isnt pronounced Kall Garry and toque isn't pronounced toock like to smoke a joint. it's so disappointing that the effort to pronounce correctly wasn't made.
The story is great, but the mispronounced words pull me out of the flow of the performance.

wish a Canadian had read this
