Story
Bay Winchester is living the high life. She’s engaged, owns her own business, and is undergoing a magical transformation, complete with growing powers at every turn. All that changes when a local teenager goes missing at a festival and nobody knows who took her. The girl’s friends saw the abduction, but the description they provide doesn’t match anybody in town. The only other witness is Marcus, her cousin Thistle’s boyfriend, and he was seriously injured in the attack and can’t provide additional information.

Story
Bay thought the worst was behind her when she modified the memories of four tempestuous teenagers bent on stealing magic and wielding it in a tyrannical manner. Unfortunately for her, when one of those teenagers ends up dead behind the inn her father owns, things start to spiral. The girl’s death is ritual in fashion, bloody runes painted on the trees, and Bay can’t wrap her head around exactly what has happened. Then things get worse.

Publisher's Summary
Bay Winchester is at a crossroads in her life. Her powers are growing, her personal life is settled, and there’s a young witch in crisis under her care.
Things are...difficult.
A good witch at heart, Bay knows that the teenager she’s trying to tame is dangerous. To keep Hemlock Cove safe, she’s isolated her at the campground property she owns with her boyfriend Landon. While visiting one day, a ghost catches her attention across the lake...and when Bay crosses to investigate, she finds a fresh body and a whole lot of trouble.
It seems the new property owner is currently dating the victim’s ex-boyfriend and there’s a convoluted mess to untangle. That’s on top of the other people in town - including Aunt Tillie’s nemesis Mrs. Little - who keep showing up at the lake with an agenda.
Bay has no idea what to do. She needs to keep her teenage protégé hidden while uncovering a deadly story of an affair gone wrong and greed run amok. All the while she wonders what will happen if she can’t turn things around for her new teenage responsibility. What will she have to do to protect the people that she loves? If that wasn’t enough, Landon is acting out of sorts. His demeanor is strange and he’s having secret conversations with her mother while trying to keep Bay out of his sock drawer. She can’t figure out why and her imagination is running wild.
It’s going to be a race to the finish. There’s an out-of-control ghost, a teenager who doesn’t want to be helped, and a man who has a plan to give his favorite witch everything she’s ever wanted.
This is the one you’ve been waiting for. The big moment is finally here.

Why is Hollis McCarthy Huffing?
I semi enjoyed the story....the main reason is because of Hollis' breathing issues. If it wasn't a huff of breath it was a sniff....are you okay Hollis???? In all of the other story you've narrated you've been fine...

The Best One Yet!!!
If you have gotten this far in the serries you are in for a special treat. This is the best book yet. Landon as it says in the description asks a very special question. He does it grandly but you guessed it you have to wait till the very end of the story. I love the way Amanda mixes love, romance, mystery and murder and of course HUMOUR. What and excellent author. Now that Thisle no longer sounds like a sad basset hound , Hollis is doing a good job too. I love Audible so much. I can hear so many stories yet get stuff done.

Unpleasant voices.
I really enjoy listening to these stories, but only for the story. I don’t like the voices the narrator uses for most of the characters. I’m finding that you can hear inhale loudly before the next sentence is said. It’s starting to effect how much I enjoy the story. I’m sorry if this seems rude, but I just have to finally say something. Please consider a new narrator for future books.

Loved it
I totally loved it and thought it was the best possible ending for this storyline. Don’t want any spoilers, so this will have to do. If you’re a fan of this series you won’t want to miss this one.
