Read book 2 because I just wanted closure and less “ick” feeling that stuck with me after book 1. The main character is less annoying in book 2 and the plot is more interesting. I’m so tired of unanswered questions and not sure I care enough to read book 3.

The second instalment takes us deeper into the mythology, however I felt it didn’t answer enough questions or contain enough plot advancements.

If you like angst- this book is filled with it. Plenty of unresolved tension. It generally just felt too frustrating because we didn’t move forwards in a strong direction.

There were 2 interesting side stories that just seemed completely unrelated. Only 1 was interesting, and it did tie back to the original storyline at the very end. But only vaguely.

Great audio performance though!

Beautifully written in lyrical prose. Narrators did an excellent job portraying the complex characters of this story. Anticipating book three!
