Publisher's Summary
Detective Alex Cross hunts down a serial killer who targets entire families—and who will next be coming for the Crosses.
A precise killer, he always moves under the cover of darkness, flawlessly triggering no alarms, leaving no physical evidence.
Cross and Sampson aren’t the only ones investigating.
Also in on this most intriguing case is the world’s bestselling true-crime author, who sees patterns everyone else misses.
The writer, Thomas Tull, calls the Family Man murders the perfect crime story. He believes the killer may never be caught.
Cross knows there is no perfect crime. And he’s going to hunt down the Family Man no matter what it takes.
Until the Family Man decides to flip the narrative and bring down Cross and his family.

This is Riveting
From the world of a writer to the world of a fashion designer. I enjoyed the plot with its twists and turns. James and the narrators made Alex Cross and company come to life. Whether reading or listening, you are pulled into the story.

Another great deal Patterson book
Great twisty story. After listening to every Cross novel, narration was a bit off putting in that now Dr Cross and Samson sounded like any old white guy. Fine narrator, just miscast.

Where is the rest of the book?
I was listening away. The plot seemed to be coming together then...it ended. I feel as though it just stopped. Poorly done by the James Patterson book factory. I'm through with this author(s).

False advertising
The commercials advertising this book said the Cross family was targeted. Didn’t happen. Short book which lacked the usual descriptive narrative involving the cross family. Not a top 5 Alex Cross book. Very disappointing!

Another Alex Cross disappointment
I think writers need to put ratings on their books while this was an OK story people need to be aware that there is sexual material
No great expectations at the end. I am disappointed.

Ok
This book was ok. It was really hard to follow bc of the changes in voices with each chapter. I usually listen to the books as I am on public trans and it affected my ability to concentrate or follow the action between chapters. Plus the plot was kinda cheesy.

Great story! Too many minute details!
I enjoyed the story. I believe when listening to an audio version you get inundated with small details… which when ready a book, we tend to skim over. Details necessary for a movie perhaps but not necessary for audio listeners.
Still, I enjoyed James Patterson’s book and another story with Alex Cross! I hope MamaNana is well!
