Publisher's Summary

In this final installment of New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker’s Silverstone series, a battle-scarred assassin must rescue an old flame from ruthless drug lords.

What was supposed to be a short trip to Jamaica becomes a years-long nightmare as Cassidy Hewitt and her son fall into the grip of an infamous drug kingpin. Desperate for rescue, Cassidy risks everything to send secret letters to the FBI, hoping someone, anyone, will answer her call.

When secret operative Leo “Gramps” Zanardi sees Cassidy’s letters, he knows this isn’t just another covert mission. The two had electric chemistry back in high school, and Leo finds himself eager for a reunion - even if the circumstances aren’t exactly ideal.

After arriving back in Indiana, Leo and Cassidy think they’re free to start a new life together. But the kingpin’s goons won’t let go of Cassidy so easily: they follow her from Jamaica, leaving carnage in their wake. Before the pair can fully embrace the love they’ve been missing all these years, they’ll need the entire Silverstone team’s help to be victorious in the showdown of their lives.

Why, oh why?

This story could have been so much better with a male narrator added! While she did an excellent job on the female voices, the male voices were so terrible it ruined the entire experience!

A big fan of the author, I had looked forward to Trusting Cassidy. If a deep sexy male voice had been added, my review would have been so much higher!

Disappointed

I've never skipped so many chapters in a book.
There's more babble than plot. The "main" story could have been 5 chapters long. What there was of a good story, gets the 2 stars.
Once again the narration was bad.
I don't like to be so critical about books, the authors spend valuable time writing them.
This book though, is the worst in the series. I wish I could get a refund. Yes, that bad.

Wow

What a great ending to a really good series. Gramps was so sexy and loving and accepting of Mario and Cassidy . I laughed and I cried and while the narrator is not one of my favs after chapter 3 I found the story so good that I didn’t notice the narrator at all. Can’t wait for Search and Rescue series and I love that Susan puts out the audio before the ebooks.

great story

this would have been rated a 5 stars but I had difficult time with the horrible Jamaican accents! None of the men's voices were great but the Jamaican were the worst.

Can't listen

Would have probably liked but audible messing with stuff has made actually being able to hear books I've purchased an iffy proposition. I am not a happy customer. Audible used to be a reliable product. Currently not reliable. Audible has essentially stolen many of the books I've purchased.

Dissatisfied

I bought this book because I had listened to the first 3 of the series. I didn’t expect or want a story about a gay boy. I expected male/ female relationships; NOT a gay one. The author pushed the gay agenda very poorly and not fair to readers. I will never get another book from Her.

Appreciated the Epilogue!

This book was a pretty solid 4 stars, maybe higher, going into it. I felt for Cassidy being in her situation, but more for Mario.

The way the Jamaica situation was resolved was interesting to say the least. TBH, I never felt like Cassidy was a 42 year old woman. She didn't seem to behave with any level of maturity.

I didn't dislike Cassidy. I was more indifferent to her. When Cassidy did the dumbest thing I ever thought possible, my review plummeted.

I guess I am not a nice person. I felt she held some responsibility for what happened to Smoke. She only had to do ONE thing! I hate when books have inexperienced h's thinking they are going to save people with incredibly stupid behavior when there are EXPERIENCED military people or LEO's right there.

I also don't understand the constant emphasis on Mario's preferences. I had some issues with the way Mario seemed to be stereotyped.

It was a decent end to a series. Everyone got their girl, and their HEA. The epilogue was nice, as it covered 5, 10, 15, and 20 years down the road.

Loved it

Gramps’ story is awesome. He’s been a great side character through the entire series. I love the live he and Cassidy build. I few scenes had me in tears. Lucy did a great job narrating the series!

Great Series

Well thought out plots and exceptional charactrrs. The author did an amazing job and the narrator was instrumental in giving each character their individual personalities.
