Publisher's Summary

Sometimes, you get a second chance at love. Sometimes, you hook up with your ex and remember why you broke up in the first place.

Amanda Russo knows better than to give her failed marriage another try, but the brief fling reminds her there’s more to life than work and parenting. When the architect she hires to remodel her bakery turns out to be as charming as she is talented, Amanda finds herself ready to take a chance on new love. The only problem? Her ex-wife didn’t get the memo.

For Quinn Sullivan, the sting of divorce is still fresh. Getting set up by pretty much everyone she knows hasn’t inspired her to give love another shot. Meeting Amanda does. Sure, they’re working together, but that’s not a deal breaker. Amanda’s ex might be another story.

Didn’t love it

I wanted to love this as the premise sounded fun but I just couldn’t get into the characters. Actually stopped listening about halfway through. Hope others enjoy it though.

Excellent!

I loved Twice Shy. I loved the behind the scenes look at a working bakery and an architectural firm. Amanda's grown children add to the story. Loved Amanda and Quinn. Keira Grace did an excellent job with the narration.

An Ex wife and a architect

The choices are hard but keeping a family together is harder. A fun loving problems to old age question is she the right person. A good read to escape to and a nice Happily Ever After.

Pleasant surprise...

Excited the audio version was released. Was inching to hear the story and catch up with some of the characters from Ms. Rey two other books, especially Julia and Taylor. Loved everything about this book and again Keira Grace did an amazing job!!!! Maybe there’s a story about Erin in the works????

Great Read

A sweet romance between two 40+ women who have both been burned by their now ex-wives in the love department. Great chemistry & romance between Amanda the town baker & business owner and her architect Quinn who is renovating her bakery. Some great secondary characters like Amanda's son Cal and Quinn's nephew made their scenes apart just as enjoyable. Kiera Grace did a great job with the narration.

wow!!

This was my first book by this author but I have several more lined up. The development of the characters was so incredible that I ended up in a tug of war between the ex and the new interest. It didn't hurt that the sex was awesome.

Loved this

This book was very entertaining, it touched on a lot of things I can relate to. I also love this narrator! She’s amazing she brings personality to the characters, you can feel the emotion in the situation, and she does a great job changing her voice so you can tell which character is talking long before their name is said. It’s a great read I recommend it!

Great From Beginning To End

Twice Shy was a super cute book that I couldn’t put down. Rey was able to write characters that weren’t only believable but you cheered for both of them for different reasons. I liked the different aspects that Rey added (like wanting to hire a female-led construction crew instead of a male-owned business) and the things that would matter and mean something to these characters.

I knew going into this one that it was going to be exactly what I wanted out of a book. A slow-burn romance where both parties had been through some stuff. They found each other and it didn’t seem like it was going to work, then suddenly things fell into place and started working. Thankfully, there wasn’t a massive “problem” invented to keep them apart but there was enough drama the solidify their relationship and prove that it was worth staying for.

The overall feel of this book left me with a smile on my face and honestly it was there for almost the entire story. It was just really cute and enjoyable. Add in the narration by Keira Grace (this was the second book she’s narrated that I really enjoyed) and you have an audiobook that was great from beginning to end.

Entertaining

Cute story but in the end seemed to drag.
Narrator was good except i felt like ‘Quinn’ reminded me of a robot speaking.

I would say a fun read but i doubt i feel like jumping back in and listening to it a 2nd time. ti it

It was ok

Not the best I listened to written by Aurora Rey, but good enough. Good characters, i liked that it was with not very young women.
Narration was ok...
