Publisher's Summary

A sexy, friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance with a twist by USA Today best-selling author Tia Louise.

To be “just friends” with a guy, you’ve got to follow The Rules:
Don’t touch him unnecessarily.
Don’t share your intimate dreams with him (even if he asks).
Don’t kiss him, and definitely don’t sleep with him.

Scout Dunne and I have been “just friends” since childhood.
He’s everything you could want - sexy, charming, confident - every girl’s wet dream.
Until we broke The Rules.

We broke them in the ocean, in my aunt’s bathroom, in my bed....
It was the hottest week of my life.
I’m one of the few people who knows the first-round NFL draft pick wants more than a life of sports.
Because we’re friends, right?
Not anymore.

Now he’s gone, and I’m trying to get my career back on track.
Mamma said a guy would never put your dreams ahead of his.
But the twist of fate?
It’s something you never see coming.

Twist of Fate is a stand-alone friends-to-lovers, single-parent romance. No cheating. No cliffhanger.

So Fun!

This book was light and breezy. A teeny bit of relationship drama thrown in but not much.

This book was sweet and then it got steamy once Scout found Daisy again. Then there were some EPICALLY HILARIOUS moments that literally had me crying tears of laughter 😂 so good!

Then the end came and it was a split of follow his acting dream or follow his family dream. (Read/listen to figure out the answer of how it all plays out)

And then TRAVIS UGH. He is the obnoxious “villain” in this story and just cringy.

The end was fantastic. Had me jumping for joy how she wrapped it up.

Now for the narrators: LOVE ME SOME SEBYO! Like seriously his voice is great for me.

Samantha Brentmoor seriously talented actress with a soft yet powerful voice. Very much a pleasure to listen to!

Friends to lovers

Scout and Daisy were friends from way back and they had their moment and moved on. When fate puts them together again a few years later they are right back where they left off with those feelings that never went away. After a week of great times and a little more they both have their futures laid out and so they go their separate ways. Fast forward a few year and Scout comes home to find more than he realized he was missing.

I loved how Daisy was a strong independent woman that decided to live her life on her own. She doesn't need Scout although she wants him. I also loved how even though life kept throwing curves at Scout he never gave up and finally got what he wanted or thought he wanted. Great love story.

Sebastian York and Samantha Brentmoor were a pleasure to listen to. Loved their voices and they brought Scout and Daisy to life.

Second Chance Love

Daisy and Scout are friends in highschool and have one moment together before going their separate ways.. Fast forward a few years and they have one week of amazing friendship and passion before going their separate ways yet again.
I absolutely love how Daisy is so strong and actually puts herself and her passions first. She has a good head on her shoulders. Scout is the gorgeous and talented town hotty with a very bright future ahead of him. Their passion was so obvious and hot. The book was written so well that you feel what the characters were feeling. I love that it was kind of a slow burn to them finally admitting they can't live without each other, but there was still plenty of steam throughout the entire book. There wasn't a single part where I thought geeze this is slow or will it ever happen!?!?
The narrators both did am amazing job telling the story and I was entranced by their voices. I just loved this story so much, and I know it will be one that I come back to over and over again whenever I need a mood booster. I can't wait to listen to Scout's brother story.

An amazing book even more amazing in audio!

Sebastian and Samantha knocked this one out of the park! The passion and love you feel between Scout and Daisy is brought to life with these two. I love the interactions with all the characters in this book, and how they bring you into the story. It made me so happy listening to this story, and would recommend this one to anyone!

Amazing small town friends to lovers

This is the story of Scout and Daisy, a small-town romance, friends to lovers. With a chemistry they can't deny. They are both young and they have dreams that make them fall apart, Scout follows his acting career dream but when he goes back he finds himself with more things than he ever thought he will find. The story is beautiful and sweet, although it's one type of story I have read before, so the originality of it takes a star from me. I love Tia Louise books so this one was well written and had all the feelings.

Sweet and Sexy Romance!

This is the second book in the Taking Chance Series, a small town romance, friends to lovers, and second chance to love. I love this Series of interconnected stories. The cover is beautiful. I loved to follow Scout and Daisy on their amazing journey to love. Daisy is lovely, independent, and strong. Scout is sexy and handsome. The storyline is divided in two parts: the past, and the present. I loved to see again the characters from the first book, and the supporting characters are interesting! This is a beautifully written, fun, sexy, and heartwarming second chance to love. Sebastian York and Samantha Brentmoor did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward for more books in this beautiful Series.

I'm a little confused

Scout Dunne and Daisy have been friends forever - ever since he saved her from a "pony attack". They shared a kiss as teenagers and that didn't go well. Now, they're back in town together. Scout is coming home from college and he's leaving for LA to be an actor (while declining an offer to join the NFL) and Daisy is starting her career as an antiques seller. They have a scorching week together and it will leave Daisy with a "twist of fate".

I really liked the chemistry between Daisy and Scout but this book left me confused most of the time. It's supposed to be a standalone but I keep feeling that there was stuff I should have known beforehand. Too many things about their shared past felt like "well known facts" that were unknown to me. I also can't, for the life of me, figure out what exactly the reading order for these books is!

I would have probably enjoyed it a lot more if I had read the previous books. I felt like I started watching a TV show on the third episode...

Narration: Let me preface this by saying that "The Unicorn" aka Sebastian York is absurdly talented and I can understanding wanting to hire him to narrate your book, but, for the love of Baby Jay Zoos, cast him accordingly. I don't think SebYo sounded like a a young adult even when he WAS a young adult. Having said that, spending a few hours listening to him is no hardship at all! ;). As for Samantha, she can do no wrong in my book.

well...... I am sad, this just isn't for me.

I think this will be my last Tia Louise Book. I have wanted to read her books and love them, but for some reason. I just don't like them. 😥 I am so heartbroken about this.
I was about 60% in, and for the most part, I was enjoying it. Then a time laps happened, and I was like. WTH? I mean, eventually, it came together. however, it was rushed for me. There was detail and a build-up in the first half of the book, and then it felt like it was rushed.
If you like Tia Louise, you should definitely read/listen to it. for me, unfortunately, I am just not a fan.

Tia Louise choose amazing narrators. Sebastian York and Samantha Brentmoor are amazing!!! I love them both.

Scout and Daisy are fate!

Scout and Daisy have alwasy been friends, but the week he is about to leave for Hollywood to pursue his acting career they cross the friendship line. When she drops him off at the airport things are sad and yet they wish each other the best of luck following their dreams. When Scout has a hiccup in his start of his acting career thats the same time Daisy finds out that she is pregnant with their baby. She is advised not to say anything to Scout so that he doesn't throw away his dreams. 4 years later Scout comes back to town for a break in-between shooting, thats when he finds out about Melody. What happens when he finds out about being a dad? What happens with Daisy when her dreams start coming true? What happens when the sleeze ball comes back to town?

I really loved Scout and Daisy's relationship and how they were fated to come back to one another! I hate that Daisy was fooled into not telling Scout. I love how Scout takes to being a dad like a duck in water! This story was just magical! I really enjoyed the ride that Tia gave us.
