Neverending stream of dubious, controversial and self-contradicting claims mixed with anecdotes and myths (e.g., "Ukraine is one of the most educated countries"). The author just throws these at the reader rarely following up with the actual supporting data.

The author seems to specialize in antisemitism, so much of his in-depth analysis is dedicated to it. Other parts of the book are rather naive and could have been as well written by a journalist rather than a historian. – The book is generally written in journalistic style rather than scientific or popular science.

In short, it's not a serious history book. Rather author's reflections on history of Ukraine. In that sense, I would not recommend it for people who want to learn actual history of Ukraine.

As for the narrator, he speaks with Russian accent. Yet, somehow, he butchers not only ALL of Ukrainian words, but also some names which are common in Russia.
