Publisher's Summary
Whether it be the hero of legends or the character in a game, few things are more defining than Class.
Except maybe Class isn't always static. Tank, DPS, healer, and more. They are all just different sides of fate's die.
Taken from life as an office drone by a trickster god, Tim finds himself in the magical world of Iocusinte, where change is his only constant. It grants him great potential, enough to be sought out by different factions looking to use him for their own ends.
That potential, however, is mercurial. His Class and very appearance shift at random.
If Tim is to survive long enough to enjoy this new world and the friends he's making, then he'll have to solve the riddle of his nature and learn to master the uncontrollable.
Experience the next LitRPG saga from Amazon Bestseller Sean Oswald. It’s perfect for fans of Dakota Krout, Luke Chmilenko, and Troy Osgood.

couldnt put this one down. from blood mage to naturalist every class was gripping. story has classic rpg tropes but with a very unique twist in that the protagonist has.....uncontrollable class shifts... surprise! its hilarious but also serious. 10/10

quite enjoyable
loved it and I am looking forward to the next book, although the narrator reads with smoldering intensity which is off putting sometimes.

while I am Blaise on the genre.
Good
The narrator was a nice change.
The author was good at portraying many points of view effectively
humorous
Middle
true to form of the genre
not as overpowered as some I have read
Bad
it was hard to get invested in the character as the view was changing so often
overall I enjoyed it even though I probably will not read the next one unless it is free to read

Great story, perfect length
I listened to all three of the Class Shift books while working or hobbying. The story was fantastic and the characters very relatable and engaging. Story wasn't so complex that I couldn't follow along while keeping busy, and I found that three books was the perfect length for these characters and series as a whole. I would very much recommend if you've ever rolled dice or are a fantasy/gamer nerd.

I Read the Whole Series
Over all it was good, the MC is over powered from the begining and the writer doesn’t apologize once for it. As well the progression of the story is quick and dirty and doesn’t just write the filler between scenes to make the book longer.
The progression and explanation of the system are sound and fun and to be fair it’s a pretty easy follow along that’s entertaining
So if you get bored sometimes in these litrpg because the writer just makes the system complicated and overbuilt you will like these 3 books.
Beware there is some cheese statements from the MC lol.

"optional" review heading
narrator tries his best with the material given him but the author clearly is going for cringey dramatics and oddly narrated story intermixed with not very funny comedy. tonally its sort of schizophrenic and way too self aware.

Fantastic!
Arguably one of the best LitRPG novel I've read so far, at least on this platform. 90% of the genre on this platform is overpopulated and overly fixated with just raw sex, sex, and more sex. Nothing wrong with sex, but listening to the same thing on blast gets annoying and upsetting, real fast. It's good to see a real novel with high quality content for a change.
The plot and story development are quite engaging, and equally enjoyable. The ever-changing and uncontrollable "identity" of the MC just keeps the reader on their toes. It's quite entertaining to guess what the MC will become next, and how he will manage his relationships as a result of these changes.
Speaking about characters, the MC's disposition feels well crafted. His tendency to assess his situation before making any form of decision is like a breath of fresh air for this genre. The number of man-child-like MCs in this genre is very disappointing, so it's nice to see a more mature one for once.
Also, all hail Kal Dakota! I don't know what this character has in store for the novel in the long run, but as of now, this guy is probably the second most enjoyable character in the first volume.
All that said, the best thing about this novel imho is the narrator. I've listened to quite a few novels in this genre. Some good, some bad, and some just downright terrible. But more often than not, the narrator can uplift a terribly written novel into an average or decent one, or downgrade a good novel into a terrible one (I find it difficult for a bad novel to upgrade into a good one, regardless of narrator... difficult but not impossible). I haven't heard all the narrators in this genre, but if this narrator was performing some of those other novels I was listening to, I probably wouldn't have disliked them so much. The choice, and performance of the narrator is super important is all I'm saying. So, hats off to you bud 👍.
Honourable mention: I especially loved the creation and performance of the pet rat. His inclusion was awesome 👀.
