Publisher's Summary
When federal agent Aaron Yazzie is assigned to protect the only witness to a drug cartel execution, he hides Kailyn Eudailey in the safest place he knows...the vast, untamed wilderness of the Navajo Reservation.
Transporting Kailyn to New Mexico may not be as easy as Aaron would like. Kailyn is a high-maintenance Southern belle who is determined to assert her independence at every step. Although Aaron's job is to protect her from the dangers that could get them both killed, Kailyn is getting to him. As an undercover agent, Aaron has grown adept at playing many roles. But will he be able to embrace his true identity and God’s plan for his life in order to keep Kailyn alive?

Christian Romance, not just a Mystery
It was not clear to me when I started this book that it was a Christian romance as it was not in the description. I'm fine with some lighthearted romance thrown in with the mystery, but I would no have started the book at all had I realized this extent that religion played in the plot and outcome of the story. I'm sure that if it's what you're looking for, it's an enjoyable listen but not if it's a surprise. Edited to add: I only looked at the brief summary of the novel when I added it to my library. I suppose I should have investigated it further.

Such A Beautiful Story of God, Navajo & Southern Gal
This narrator used her skills well. Though she did not use different voices to depict the different characters, Lisa Carter has written this story in such a way as to make them easily discernible.
This novel is suspenseful and is beautifully crafted to include Our Maker. It is a well-written romance that includes some of the ways of the Navajo (Diné) peoples, which was very interesting to learn.
I easily imagined myself in the story, being both wooed and protected by the stalwart FBI undercover agent and being pursued by the Mexican drug lord. I hated for it to end.
I wholeheartedly recommend any book in which I find myself unwilling for it to end.

A wonderful Christian thriller
I think I have found another super Christian author - enough story line and suspense and a protagonist who comes full circle to his roots and his heritage and his Shepherd. Plus a full cast of comfortable characters and family.
The narration was great with the Navajo words and even an incredible Carolina drawl.

Couldn't Finish
Yeah yeah it's a free book but the time I waisted giving this book a chance was time I'll never get back. the story is slow and painful and the narrator's latino woman accent sounds straight Chinese.. it's horrible

Another great Lisa Carter mystery
I really enjoyed the New Mexico backdrop for this romance mystery. Lisa Carter provides a fast moving story, great character development, with a faith foundation.

Racist Authors like this should be removed!
As a Diné I am horrified at the misrepresentation of what this book is about. This is plain and simple anti Indigenous, Christian progranda and incredibly offensive to Native people!
Please lable it what it is! Pro conversion Christian dribble as well as Offensive Fetishism of Native Americans! Honestly I wish thia was removed from your platform for hate speech its so offensive!
Beware white people writing about Indigenous people! It is so hard when Audible features so few Native Authors, sometimes I chance a new read, but when you shun actual Indigenous writers and then provide a platform foe racists like this author, it is really hurtful.
We already have to deal with being left out constantly, No Native History month, No Indigenous peoplea day, No mention of us ever on any Amazon platforms, but then to offer titles that actively hurt us. Shame on you Audible and Amazon! so better!
And shame on anyone think this is acceptable to promote!
