Does not translate to a realistic public school educator. We do not teach in schools with students from singular or homogeneous cultures. The idea of letting students express themselves through their culture is good one but that is one piece of a classroom puzzle. Other students may be inspired by cultures outside their own, they may only get animated when speaking about things like other cultures, space; video games, music, Manga, sociology, etc..
The book doesn’t say much about else and has a pretty weak thesis. American weak and limited ideas of culture and youth.
