Publisher's Summary

Betsy Devonshire has settled into her new home in Excelsior, Minnesota, as owner of the town’s needlecraft shop. So why is she suffering from terrifying nightmares? She hasn’t a clue—but thinks maybe it would help to get away for a while. With her friend Jill in tow, she heads north for a “stitch-in” at a remote, rustic lodge. But her nightmares only get worse—especially after she finds a dead woman no one else had seen. Then the body disappears—and she knows she won’t get any rest until she untangles the mysterious threads of the crime....

A Fascinating setting

I saw this as a story where Betsy is struggling to come to terms with her problem solving skill. Jill is such a great foil for Betsy, and just a great example of a certain type of Scandinavian - the strong, silent type. But most of all I loved that setting: the unique resort by the ‘Scandinavian Riviera’, a part of Minnesota more connected to Canada than the rest of the state. And the mighty Lake Superior. And the whole back drop of the Stitch-in, with many well-drawn characters there as well. A mystery with lots of twists and turns, where not only do Betsy and Jill find the solution but in the process Betsy grows and comes to a better understanding of herself.
I’ve listened to it several times and find things to enjoy each time. And Susan Boyce’s even reading sets the perfect tone for a mystery set in Minnesota.

Not Good Read

Don't understand the great reviews. Story boring and predictable. Characters uninteresting. Narrator terrible. Would never read another book by author or read by narrator. Made finishing the book very difficult.
