What is with authors making their women so oblivious, unintelligent and clueless? It's really an insult to women everywhere. I'm no diehard feminist or anything but I do know that having the males in the story have 75% of the strength, knowledge, and capability and the females have 25% it won't be a decent story. Not to mention this girl is just so annoying 🙄!

I was hoping that the Academy setting, which is really cool, would save this book but it just kept getting worse. I have liked the other Alexis Calder series I listened too, but I can't recommend this one at all.

Books 1-4, whole series. I’ve read all.
It’s a good story. The narration was okay. Male narration could use practice with speed and putting some emotion into the reading.
Moving to the story.
Lacking information. Details are good when they are there however you are stuck with a lot of backpedaling when random information comes about.
The intimate scenes (3 🌶️ out of 5) are long and detailed (which I’m okay with) however when the plot action comes around it’s so short and then boom, the threat is over with.
It wasn’t the greatest of series I’ve read but it’s the first from this author. I’ll probably try to read another book from this author but we’ll see.

The book starts pretty quick apparently she set two men on fire and killed them after they tried to attack her and she ended up in a magical school that is extremely hard to get into yet she has a free pass.

She’s thrown into the world of magical creatures and has a bond to a wolf shifter, a sex demon & 2 male witches. Not much happens in the book until the end.
