Publisher's Summary

Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed father, Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiancé, and her own search-and-rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons. But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. And then a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret that changes the world as she knows it.

What happens when you learn you are not who you thought you were? When the people you've loved and trusted suddenly change before your eyes? When getting your deepest wish means giving up what you've always taken for granted? Vanishing Acts explores how life as we know it might not turn out the way we imagined; how doing the right thing could mean doing the wrong thing; and how the memory we thought had vanished could return as a threat.

Very good

This book was really good! There are a couple chapters that are questionable whether they were necessary. Overall interesting, surprising and very detailed. Would only recommend for adults.

Long & Boring

I kept waiting for something exciting to happen in this 'mystery' but it never did, even the supposed twists were predictable. The narration of the main character was clearly fake, it got better as I went along but never stopped being slightly fake. The whole story could have been wrapped in 3 hours...

Interesting story

The overall plot was good although somewhat predictable at times. There were some superfluous themes that made me lose interest.

bit of a struggle

I did struggle to finish this book. I felt some of the prison talk was a bit much for me. narrators were okay.

Disappointing

The story was good but fairly predictable. I really disliked the looong pauses some of the narrators took between sentences. And “Andrew”’s narrator had a dreadful saliva clicking/swallowing/mouth cleaning sound that was quite disgusting to listen too. My least favourite Picolt book so far (and I’ve read several). Disappointed.
