Story
I thought I was ordinary Rory Franco: college student, artist, and over-protected daughter. Then, mages barge into my family’s home, murder my parents, and whisk me off to a university known as Villain Academy. It turns out I’m Persephone Bloodstone, the long lost heir to one of the five royal families of dark magic. I’m destined to learn how to manipulate the world with fear - and to stand beside the four other scions: the scorching-hot, arrogant young men who rule this school. The four of them crush anyone who doesn’t kowtow.

Story
Do I want to spend my summer with my vicious classmates at Bloodstone University - better known as Villain Academy? No, thank you. But I've got to find a way to tackle my enemies before they try to destroy me again, and the trail to potential answers starts there. I've had it with taking the high road, though. Come at me, and you'd better believe I'll hit you back just as hard. Maybe that'll mean I have to tap into my dark magic instincts more than I'd ever have planned to, but I'm not letting one more person I care about get hurt.

Story
Every time I turn around, new opponents are looking to knock me down. No part of the magical community is safe. And now my enemies have left me with a horrible accusation hanging over my head, using so many tricks I can barely defend myself. If I want to clear my name and keep my freedom, I have to turn to the guys who once made my life hell. They've changed their tune and made amends, but how far can I really count on them? Especially if they find out that my greatest foes are within their families.

Story
I was starting to think I knew what I was dealing with here at the university best known as Villain Academy. Not so much. But can I really trust a shocking revelation from someone who's proven to be my enemy? There's no way to answer that without diving in. If my mother is still out there alive, I have to uncover the truth. Even if it means putting myself back in the hands of the mages who've betrayed me before.

Story
Having my birth mother back in my life? To say it's a big transition is an understatement. Especially when she's basically a stranger to me, and I'm not sure yet whether I can trust her to be any more maternal than the average fearmancer parent (which, spoiler, isn't much). Unfortunately, the other barons aren't giving me time to ease into the situation. They've turned their sights on my fellow scions and newfound lovers, putting them under fire from far too close to home. As if that wasn't enough, an unsettling plan is unfolding that threatens every student on campus.

Story
I've won one victory against my enemies, but it seems the barons are just getting started with their new, vicious schemes. They'll stop at nothing to expand their power. Any move I make to oppose them could have horrible consequences for both me and the guys I love. My only hope is playing along until the right opportunity comes my way. There's a chance I could sway my mother if I can earn her trust. She may be brutal when she feels she needs to be, but I've seen glimpses of a softer side underneath.

Publisher's Summary
In a month, I've gone from magicless to one of the most powerful dark mages in the world. You'd think that would make my life easier.
But all that power is only potential until I learn how to wield it, and my enemies have a huge head start. While I'm picking up every skill I can, adversaries both within Villain Academy and beyond it are working to knock me down.
My fellow scions? I can count at least a couple of them among those enemies. The others...let's just say the lines between light and dark have gotten a lot more blurred.
Nothing's safe here - not my mind, my heart, my magic, or the few people who're proving themselves my allies. When the danger turns deadly, will I be able to save all of them and myself?
Rory’s battle to survive Villain Academy has only just begun. Vicious treachery, unexpected allies, thrilling passion, and wrenching heartbreak await in Vile Sorcery....
*Vile Sorcery is the second book in a university-age paranormal academy series. Expect magical villainy, a tough heroine who bends to no one’s will, a dollop of steam, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance where there'll be no choosing required.*

Royals of Villain Academy Book 2
I enjoyed the first book, Cruel Magic, but this book is even better. Rory’s fellow scions continue to be a problem, although the line between hate and love seem to be blurring for a few of them. Rory continues to uphold her values and principles and it is not popular with the Fearmancers.
Narration is excellent and brings the story to life.
This is an adult series and there are some steamy scenes. The author did a great job creating an interesting world with well developed characters. I’m still not too fond of any of the Scions but hopefully they will develop some redeeming qualities.
The story sucked me in and it was impossible to put it down! I finished the book in record time and can’t hardly wait for book 3! This series is very entertaining and I’m looking forward to finding out what will happen next.

Loving this world so much already ❤️
I thought book 2 was a great follow-up to book 1, had me more invested in these characters and want to shake them all with their decisions and can't wait for them to be a unit instead of all the pushing and pulling and being on opposite sides. I loved seeing some walls come down, I loved the angst and heartbreak between some, and am ready for Malcolm to get the stick out of his butt and realize what he wants to happen shouldn't happen and he needs to listen to his fellow scions. I enjoyed seeing Connar finally do something admirable and am excited to see what happens with him and Rory in the next book. I hope Jude can snap out of it, I mean he is trying to understand, but its not clicking yet. and I am worried about what might happen to Declan. The ramifications will probably bite them later. I was heartbroken but knew it was gonna happen eventually with one character and sad that Rory keeps losing friends left and right. I loved getting more insight into the powers and how they can be used against each other/see how to combat some of them. I loved the little Hogwarts-esque team/league challenge. I also thought the moments with Rory and Shadow was adorable. Overall 5/5 for the story in book 2 of 8 of this series ❤️
In terms of narration I thought there was improvement, between and 4 and 4.5 stars for me. I thought the emotion that Meg provided was gut wrenching, especially with the event at the end of the book. I think the portrayal of Debra is helping make me suspicious of her and her narration of the mean girls was amazing. I felt the sorrow with Imogen and the feeb I am blanking on (totally not playing into the Villains storyline/relationship I promise haha). Great job, Meg! Stephen did a good job, I thought he was better at not being screechy/whiny with Rory's narration. He definitely did a great job with Malcolm and Connar's scenes. I am interested to get a POV from Jude after the blow-up with Rory, feel how lost he is.
Already downloaded book 3, losing this story so much already! I am glad this series is complete because I would be devastated to not know what would come next 😍

I love this series !!!!!!!!!!
In book 2 Rory has just learned that she is one of the most powerful mages in the world. Now she has to learn how to use those powers. The Scions still give her trouble along with the "mean girls" but my girl Rory is keeping up.
Her relationships with Jude and Declan start to heat up in the book. Connor has a lot to make up for and Malcom is still a jerk to her. I love her relationship with Shelby and I can't wait to see what will happen next.
There are several plots in this book. The overall plot is Rory trying to reconcile her Fearmancer abilities with her Joymancer nature. They we have the mystery of what is happening with her mentor. Also the constant conflict with the Barrons and now her grandparents. Rory has a very busy and complicated life.
Stephen and Meg do an amazing job of narrating and bringing the characters to life. I can't wait for more!!! #AudioBx review

Awesome Job!!!
Vile Sorcery by Eva Chase and narrated by Meg Sylvan and Stephan Dexter, the second book in a multiple book series.
Return Rory Bloodstone, She made it through the trial to prove her magic, now she just needs to survive her classmates. I love how she tries so hard to maintain her morals while she is being told that everything she grew up learning is wrong, but she is surviving with help from her mentor, her mouse, and her access to the library.
I highly recommend this book but you really need to listen to them in the order that the author intended, or you will be completely lost. Follow Rory and her adventures, and the other scions to see what happens next.
