Another great book by Lisa Jewell

I'm generally a pretty big fan of Lisa Jewell's novels and this one definitely didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the story and thought that the characters were well written and that the story was heart warming. I would definitely recommend this book.

Fast Forwarded last 4 Hours. Predictable

Definitely not one of Lisa Jewell’s finer works. The book starts off with interesting character and plot development but peters out towards the middle of the book. The ending was so obvious that I couldn’t be bothered to listen to the last 4 hours and just skipped through to the blasé conclusion.

I wanted a more rewarding ending

This book takes you through a journey of young love washed away in a note and the rain. You follow them both while they cross each others lives at a time where they are each with someone and not the right someone. When you finally get to the end the author doesn’t let you experience the joy of the Reunion. I get it we are supposed to figure out our own reunion but I wanted the author to describe it for me.

Most frustrating and disappointing story

Well, that’s 13 hours and 24 minutes I’ll never get back. Vince and Joy are both among the most pathetic characters I’ve ever encountered. It’s easy to look at this story and say they each the victims of unlucky circumstances. However, you can also see how they are the makers of their own poor situations by not have the spine to stand up for themselves. They wring their hands about their poor situations, but do nothing to solve them. Joy is particularly bad about adding 2 + 2 and getting...yellow.

The story itself is also poorly told. It is drawn out so ridiculously that, as my frustration with it mounted, I was able to skip large sections at a time and not miss anything at all. I finally arrived at the ending, which was limp and literally left nothing resolved. How can it be a romantic story when we never, ever get to see the central characters together, free to enjoy finding one another? HUGE letdown by an author I normally like.

Not her Best by far.

Annoyingly back and forth. How many "what ifs" can we take?? Normally I love her books but this is a thumbs down. Love the narrator.

Loved this story

I like how Liz Jewell describes the characters and the surroundings and what they are thinking. This was a very descriptive story and when you are listening to a book it’s very important. I feel
Like I’m watching along with listening. The male and female narration was perfect for this kind of story.

Pathetic main characters!

It sounds so mean to call anyone pathetic, but that’s exactly what Vince and Joy are/where threw out the whole story. I kept on reading thinking that one of them would find a backbone in their relationship (no with each other) but it never happened & the ending did nothing to help!
