Publisher's Summary
In the Virginia countryside outside of Washington, DC, Addy Wentworth was on a mission to make a new life for herself.
When the opportunity arose, she settled in horse and wine country. Experiencing more than her fair share of tragedy and loss, she had plans for her future, one where failure wasn’t an option. And not just because people and cows were counting on her. She’d poured everything she had into her struggling vineyard, because once she’s in, she’s all in.
After giving himself wholly to the job for 10 years, Crew Vega was done. He’d fulfilled his commitment, done his duty, gone above and beyond to settle the score. And the score was high. All he had to do was train his replacements, and he’d be out for good. He had a plan, one that didn’t include getting involved with his new neighbor, a woman who not only kept cows for pets, but treasured her employees as family, and understood him better than anyone ever had before. But then he learned a high level CIA target being investigated for treason was keeping tabs on her...and he never planned on that. Like everything Crew Vega did in life, when he goes in, he’s all in.
Includes Until the Tequila, a bonus novella from from The Killers series.

A Slow Burn Romance with Heart-Pounding Action
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat: 🔥🔥
As a newcomer to Brynne Asher's writing, I stumbled upon "Vines" while browsing Audible for titles narrated by the captivating Jason Clarke. Clarke's voice has a magnetic quality that gives me goosebumps in the best possible way, so I was eager to dive into more of his narration. What I found within the pages of "Vines" was a gripping story, brimming with action and a slow-burning romance that left me utterly enthralled.
The narrative wastes no time in thrusting readers into a world of intrigue and danger, set amidst the picturesque backdrop of Virginia's countryside. Addy Wentworth, determined to carve out a new life for herself, finds her world turned upside down when she discovers her neighbor is not just an assassin, but also a relentless stalker. The tension between Addy and Crew Vega, the enigmatic assassin with a heart of gold, is palpable from the start. Despite their fast-developing connection, Asher skillfully crafts their romance into a slow burn, allowing readers to savor every moment of their burgeoning relationship.
One of the highlights of "Vines" is the depth of its characters. Asher takes her time in fleshing out Addy and Crew, allowing readers to fall in love with them individually before bringing them together. This attention to character development is a refreshing departure from the rushed romances often found in the genre, adding layers of complexity to the story. Additionally, the action sequences are pulse-pounding and intense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats and their Kindles clenched tightly in hand.
The synopsis of "Vines" promises a story filled with suspense and romance, and Asher delivers on all fronts. From the gripping plot to the well-rounded characters, this book has it all. As Addy and Crew navigate the dangerous world closing in around them, readers will find themselves fully invested in their journey. "Vines" is a testament to Asher's skill as a storyteller and a must-read for fans of romance with a side of heart-pounding action.

Story is off
There is something about the story line and relationships between the characters that is so off and often odd.
